About us:

The India Climate Collaborative (ICC), registered as ‘Council of Philanthropies for Climate Action’ (CPCA), mobilises funding towards climate change. We identify critical sectors that need investment, while enabling private and corporate philanthropy to engage effectively with climate action. To get this done, we partner with the climate ecosystem, including research organisations, implementers, government stakeholders and businesses. We were founded by some of India’s pre-eminent corporate and philanthropic leaders, including Nadir Godrej, Anand Mahindra and Rohini Nilekani and have been incubated by the Tata Trusts.

About this role:

The ICC’s Fellow will be responsible for all aspects of Sectors work at the ICC. They will have the opportunity to mould the direction of a nascent team with immense potential. We need someone who has experience building systems and navigating people, with priority given to those who have done this at a non-profit or NGO. The Fellow will report to ICC’s Senior Programme Manager

Responsibilities:

Sectoral expertise and leadership 

• Generate, shape and inform the programme partnerships with grantee organizations. This includes reviewing concepts, co-developing proposals and aligning with ICC’s sector priorities.

• Provide review and development support in the sector’s strategic direction and changes with evolving landscape needs and priorities

• Keep yourself abreast of sectoral developments, learnings and areas of gap to inform ICC’s strategic direction

Partners relationship management 

• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to identify alignment with programme priorities

• Provide support and actively engage during the donor and expert committee discussions/reporting

Outputs and collateral development and review

• Inform and shape any sectoral thought pieces either jointly or independently developed by ICC . This may include guidance to team and/or developing material independently.

• Review reports, outputs and deliverables from the grants to ensure high quality and alignment with sectoral priority

• Co-develop, review and strategize on donor collaterals like reports, presentations and trackers

Requirements:

• A Master’s and/ or PhD degree in environmental/energy science, policy and/or sustainable development with 5-10+ years of relevant work experience in emissions, energy transition, climate change mitigation or related field

• Deep Interest in and familiarity of Indian climate and non-profit sectors. A well connected network of partners from field of think tanks, research and implementationo    Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) . Have contributed or developed thorough, rigorous reports and research work in your areas of work

• Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing external stakeholders

• Ability to process information from multiple sources, and compile and articulate it in a presentable manner. Able to quick adapt to dynamics needs from multiple stakeholder but able to align on work goal and impact

• A keen eye for detail and yet ability on step back on big picture/strategic outcomes of the work

• Ability to think strategically and creatively, Have a solutions oriented mindset

• Good project management skills with an ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines.

• Able to meet tight deadlines, and work independently  while also being a great team player to support/enable teams work.
