**Job Description:**

 

The Finance Analyst will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for the operational and financial aspects of a donor-funded project.  This role requires close collaboration with finance, programme, and operations colleagues, as well as government officials and other stakeholders.  Key responsibilities include:

 

* Coordinating financial planning, analysis, and service provision in accordance with UN Women’s framework, rules, and regulations.

* Supporting cost-saving strategies and verifying financial transactions.

* Utilizing the QUANTUM system for accurate financial reporting.

* Analyzing financial resources and advising India CO management on financial matters.

* Monitoring cash management processes and conducting financial risk assessments.

* Monitoring financial systems for anomalies and ensuring compliance with UN Women policies and IPSAS accounting standards.

* Reviewing implementing partner procedures and contractual arrangements with suppliers.

* Drafting financial reports and supporting the audit process.

* Supporting programme/project budgets, processing payments, and providing financial administrative support.

* Contributing to financial training and communication within the India CO.

* Participating in knowledge management and capacity building.

* Supervising one Finance Assistant.

 

 

**Experience Required:**

 

* Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounting-specific role within a large international organization, preferably the UN system.

* Demonstrated financial experience using an ERP financial system.

* Demonstrated experience in providing financial and budget support to programmes/projects.

* Demonstrated knowledge of IPSAS/IFRS.

* Experience using office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).

* Experience working on development projects is desirable.

* Experience supporting multiple offices simultaneously is desirable.

* Experience working in a regional or multi-country context is desirable.

* Experience using a modern web-based management system is desirable.

 

 

**Education:**

 

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance/Accounting or a professional accounting qualification from an internationally recognized institute of accountancy (e.g., Chartered Accountant or certified Public Accountant).

 

 

**Language Requirements:**

 

Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of Hindi is desirable.  Knowledge of French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is also desirable.

 

**Contract Duration:** One year (renewable based on funding availability)
