The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a proactive and responsible Finance and Administrative Assistant with high level of commitment and excellent planning & organizational skills to update general accounts and financial reports, administrative tasks ensuring that the information is accurate and manageable by the team in our India’s Regional Office.

About the role:

This position is responsible of update general administrative tasks, accounts and financial reports to ensure the information is accurate and manageable by assistant II and project accountings. This position will be based in New Delhi, India and will report to the Regional Controller for Asia.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist and support financial operations of the country office.
  • Assist in data entry in system for close of monthly books and verify supporting of the vouchers.
  • Assist in closing of monthly books and all financial reporting is completed on time.
  • Assist in other accounting and finance duties as needed.
  • Comply with applicable health and safety CIP policies and procedures.
  • Assist in data sorting for India for statutory annual audits.
  • Labelling of assets of the center and also to coordinate with other project office.
  • Help in getting quotations and liasoning with vendors for queries and support in procurement of goods and services.
  • Assist in support vehicle management like checking vehicle conditions and mileage and verify logbooks.
  • Assist in Support administrative tasks as assigned Such as Hotel booking, Air tickets and other ground transportation.
  • Support to maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions and other compliances files like EPF and Tax challan files for audit requirements.
  • Ensures files are well kept in a physical and electronical file for audit purposes.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in accounting and administration, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Knowledge and experience using accounting software packages (ERP preferable) and good if having knowledge using Tally.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures of Not-for-profit , as well as being up to date with accounting and administration techniques and trends.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel.
  • Fluent English level, written and oral.
