## Finance Lead
**Job Location:** Delhi, India
**Experience Required:** 6-9 years of accounting work experience with proven team leadership responsibilities and exceptional project execution skills.
**Position Summary:**
The Project Lead, Finance is a key role that involves collaborating with program and project teams and their leaders. Reporting to the Associate Director, Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing financial and MIS reporting functions, including budget management, financial statement preparation, payables, payroll, banking, and donor reporting. You will also provide support to the Finance team in building robust processes, driving operational efficiency, and managing the finance and administrative costs, working closely with vendors and consultants.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Financial Projection, Budgeting, Reporting and Management:**
* Collaborate with the CEO office to develop and maintain the budget and fiscal projections.
* Supervise the team’s preparation of budgets, documentation, and financial analysis.
* Review contractual agreements with vendors and consultants, managing and negotiating office and equipment costs.
* **Donor Reporting:**
* Assist the CEO team in submitting proposals, signing MOUs, recording and issuing receipts, and preparing donor reports according to agreed timelines and formats.
* Provide any other information required by donors.
* **Accounting and Internal Controls:**
* Oversee all aspects of accounting for the organization, including accounting policies, systems, and processes.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, payroll systems and processes, internal controls, and ongoing financial modeling.
* **Audit and Compliance:**
* Ensure timely preparation and smooth audits of accounts with no qualifications in the report by statutory and donor auditors.
* Review and supervise legal and regulatory document filing, monitoring compliance with FCRA, Income Tax, GST, Professional Tax, Provident Fund, NPS, etc. and other applicable laws and regulations.
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, and reconciliations.
* Maintain financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Accounting Policies, and grant/contract requirements.
* Monitor the use of all funds.
* **Reporting and Analysis:**
* Prepare timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial reports, along with supporting documentation.
* Investigate and explain material variances, highlight trends for management, and provide recommendations.
* Develop and oversee accounting policies and procedures to meet current and future business needs.
* **Support to Teams:**
* Support the CEO office and program/project teams with their financial queries and donor reporting.
**Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* 6-9 years of accounting work experience with proven team leadership responsibilities and exceptional project execution skills.
* Strong analytical skills to analyze complex qualitative and quantitative data, develop potential solutions, and recommend actions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
* Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.
* Ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships within and outside the organization, including with colleagues, partners, foundations, grantees, and education product/service providers.
* Ability to effectively communicate with individuals in potentially stressful situations.
