Role Description:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring financial stability and sustainability, and providing support in achieving the organization’s overall strategic goals. The incumbent will work closely with other departments to ensure the proper and efficient use of resources, and provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and taxes.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and other financial information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to the Head of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Monitor budget performance and report on variances to the Head of Finance.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare financial reports for donors, funding agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the annual audit process and provide support to auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure the efficient use of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulations.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Experience in grant management is an asset.
