About the role:

Team Lead- Finance & Accounts will be responsible for maintaining sound financial and accounting systems and controls for Dasra. The role entails performing day to day financial accounting tasks including, processing payments, filing and document retrieval, providing data for report preparation and data input Support in budgeting, financial accounting and reporting of assigned grants.

Accounting, Compliance, Reporting and Other Process efficiency:

  • Provide guidance in preparation of financial records from data entry, bank reconciliation statements, accounts payables, donor accounts, journal entries and financial statement preparation.
  • Provide overall supervision on accounts. Manage team and provide guidance to team members in maintenance and preparation of financial records
  • Review financial records on regular basis. Handle closing of books of accounts, finalisation of accounts and preparation of financial statements
  • Handle statutory, Internal and donor audits. Well versed with direct taxes compliances and assessments.
  • Support Manager Finance in filing of returns and support on data preparation for tax authorities for assessments and appeals
  • Well versed with FCRA and CSR compliances. Compile and process financial information for reporting to the senior management (SM)
  • Ensure accuracy in financial reports in formats required by the SM and Board members
  • Liaise closely with donors to understand their reporting requirements and report to them on both a regular need basis
  • Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and fund flows

Support in data preparation for Debtor’s management and Credit Control Budgeting and Financial Planning:

  • Provide Support in finance data to cross team
  • Work closely with Manager- Finance on preparation of Annual Budget preparation
  • Collate date received from different team and provide consolidation with high quality
  • Liaise with bankers and handle any banking related issues, as required.
  • Co-ordinate with auditors and finalise the audit of the financial statements
  • Assist in compiling information during income tax assessments/ scrutiny.
  • Keep abreast of the latest development in the financial regulations as well as NGO sector specific rules and regulations
  • Ensure timely compliance of all statutory requirements
  • Maintain a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting

Requirements:

Education and Work experience:

  • Master’s Degree in commerce or Inter-CA with 5-7 years of experience in finance and accounts.
  • Working experience with Non-Profit organisation would be an added advantage. Required skills and abilities
  • Sound accounting and book keeping knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in excel.
  • Ability to analyse financial information effectively; Proficiency in Tally ERP accounting system
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills;
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills;
  • Ability to self-initiate, problem solve, make decisions independently
  • Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural team;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
