About us

Lend-a-Hand India (LAHI) is a 16 year old NGO with the mission to integrate vocational education with mainstream education for students from 9th to 12th grade level and equip them with an entrepreneurial mindset to thrive in the real world ahead. We facilitate “school to work” transition for these 14-18 year old in-school students by imparting vocational education and internship opportunities as a part of the secondary school curriculum.

We aim to universalize vocational education and restore “dignity of labor” as lack of dignity of labor is one of the major impediments in India which restricts the youth from achieving their full potential. Currently, more than 1 million+ young students from 10,000+ high schools in 24 states/UTs across India are part of the program.

Majority of our work is in partnership with the state governments by helping the state governments to scale up vocational education in the state under ‘Samagra Shiksha’ scheme of Ministry of Education. 

Recently, Lend A Hand India was awarded The organization was recently awarded a system change grant by Co-Impact, a donor collaborative consisting of Rockefeller, Gates, Chandler, Nilekanis and others.

​Job Description

Role Overview

The Front End Developer/Full Stack Developer will be crucial in implementing, managing, and maintaining technology projects. This individual will work closely with various team members including Head of Technology, Project Managers (PM), Technical Managers (TM), and State Leads to deliver software solutions to stakeholders while adhering to project milestones and deadlines.

Role and Responsibilities:

Project Implementation & Management:

• Implement, manage, and maintain technology projects as assigned.
• Execute business process improvements related to technical applications, system development, and software solution delivery.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, PM/TM, and end users to establish and understand requirements.

Technical Contribution & Coordination:

• Provide valuable technical inputs for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with Managers, PM, and TM on day-to-day activities and ensure the timely completion of tasks.
• Stay updated with engineering best practices, technology trends, tools, and frameworks to contribute effectively to the projects.

Other Organizational Contributions:

• Undertake any other activities and responsibilities as required by the organization to contribute to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

What you bring?

Skills:

• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to various software.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience building SaaS applications, preferably as a front-end/full-stack developer.
• Excellent programming skills in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like Angular or React, Node.js.
• Hands-on experience using Git for version control.
• Proficient in working with databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledgeable in Linux and scripting with basic DevOps knowledge for deploying SaaS products on AWS.

What you Bring

Experience and Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent.
• 3 to 6 years of experience working on technology projects, with a focus on software development.
• Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and documentation processes.
• Experience working with multi-location project teams.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the social sector and proficient use of various software development tools.
