## Specialist/ Senior Specialist – FRU, RRTC 

 

**India Health Action Trust (IHAT)** is a charitable trust established in 2003 with a vision to positively impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalized communities by addressing health and social inequities. We strive to reduce these inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health. IHAT works closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Bihar, to achieve public health goals. Our work focuses on areas such as prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems.  

 

**Job Location:** Uttar Pradesh, India

 

**Experience Required:** 

 

* **Essential Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience in public health. 

* **Preferred Experience:** Applicants with experience of working in public health programs in U.P., Bihar, M.P., Rajasthan would be preferred.

 

**Job Summary:** 

 

The FRU Specialist will support technical aspects of the TSU program protocol under RMNCH+A, with a particular focus on the FRU Strengthening program to improve the quality of maternal, neonatal, and child health-related services in health facilities. This role involves the process of supportive supervision and mentoring of FRUs by establishing Regional Resource Training Centers (RRTCs) and coordinating with these RRTCs for skill development and training of medical staff and mentoring of FRU CHCs and DHs.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

**Technical:**

 

* Provide technical inputs in the FRU strengthening program and prepare action plans for each zone under the direct supervision of Senior State Consultants – FRU.

* Identify, engage with, and enable medical colleges and universities and develop them as Regional Resource Training Centers (RRTCs) to provide mentorship to FRUs on a continuous basis.

* Facilitate regional workshops/clinical skills practice sessions during mentoring visits.

* Conduct frequent field visits to support the implementation of the FRU strengthening intervention and monitor its implementation.

* Facilitate project activities including workshop planning, technical materials availability to ensure smooth implementation.

* Identify, document, and disseminate lessons learnt and best practices from implementation in the allotted zones related to clinical interventions.

* Work closely with the supervisor/programmatic linkage on setting program priorities and directions, and responding to requests for technical support from the department Health officials and/or local counterparts.

* Participate in development, preparation, and dissemination/publication of technical papers, documents, and reports.

* Any other work assigned by the line manager.

 

**Education:**

 

* **Essential Qualification:** MBBS/BDS with a post-graduate degree/Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with at least 2-3 years of clinical or public health experience in Obstetrics and in the area of Maternal and Child Health.

* **Preferred Qualification:** Degree/Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with at least 2-3 years of clinical/public health experience in Obstetrics and in the area of Maternal and Child Health.

 

**Key Competencies:**

 

* Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the management of MNCH programs at the district and state levels.

* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of maternal and child health programs and policies in India.

* Professional technical knowledge/expertise in research methodology, statistics, and data management.

* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with multi-disciplinary state and zonal level teams, Government officials, and external partners.

* Demonstrated cross-cultural, teamwork, and basic knowledge in computer skills.

* Must be flexible and able to work in a challenging environment.
