**Job Description:**

 

As the Global Strategic Partnerships Associate, you will play a vital role in the implementation of Room to Read’s fundraising strategy. You will contribute to our pipeline of prospects, steward donor relationships, manage the Gifts In-Kind (GINKI) portfolio, and support the Strategic Partnerships Director on proposals, Requests for Quotations, and Requests for Applications.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* Raise and manage between $500k – $750k+ annually from multilateral/bilateral entities, prizes, and/or institutional donors.

* Manage and steward our $4-6MM+ annual In-Kind Gifts portfolio and serve as a central lead across internal departments.

* Identify donor pipeline prospects and develop related transformational proposals to help scale Room to Read’s global impact.

* Write, edit, and/or coordinate compelling materials including concept papers, letters of inquiry, proposals, presentations, reports, and other materials as needed.

* Steward existing donor portfolios and negotiate grant renewals, upgrades, or extensions.

* Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Partnerships on opportunity forecasting and proposal pipeline tracking.

* Report on and update revenue projections.

* Lead or support project handover from the proposal phase to project kick-off in accordance with Project Management Guidelines in coordination with the Program Operations team.

* Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure accurate representation of budgets for proposals and financial reports.

* Stay current with organizational strategies and operational plans to present accurate funding opportunities to donors.

* Maintain relevant donor data in the organization’s Salesforce-based platform.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in nonprofit or client relationship management.

* Proven track record of obtaining global corporate and foundation funding in the $50,000 to $100,000 gift range is preferred.

* Demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships.

* Exceptional relationship, interpersonal, and listening skills.

* Excellent writing, editing, verbal, and written communication skills in English.

* Proficiency in using database systems such as Salesforce or other fundraising CRMs.
