Purpose

We seek to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Grants Officer as part of the Operations Team to expand its work in the area of Managing organisational grants, its finances, Bookkeeping, and Maintenance of all financial records in a systematic manner and handling the Council’s Legal matters. Experience in Project Management, Advanced excel skills, Tally, Legal reviews and Knowledge of law would be preferred. The Grants Officer should be prepared, when necessary, to take additional responsibilities directly or indirectly related to the main scope of work.

He/She is expected to predominately work upon all ongoing and upcoming project management related activities, legal and finance related matters. Besides, there will be endless opportunities to learn and contribute across a wide range of activities at CEEW. The incumbent will be responsible for duties as highlighted below:

Job Duties and Accountabilities

Project Management

  • Overall responsibility for managing projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Budgeting, Staffing, Resource allocations and preparing analytical reports.
  • Preparation of monthly MIS reports and lead the discussions.
  • Properly recording and maintaining Grant management files.
  • Prepare and discuss Budget Vs Actual report with the project managers.
  • Prepare Utilization Certificates and financial reports for the donor’s.
  • Prepare project-wise activity report for FCRA or Income tax purposes.
  • Prepare MIS to report any irregularities.

Audits (Statutory and Internal)

  • Supervising and finalization of internal/statutory/tax audit.
  • Ensuring maintenance of proper records as per the audit requirements.
  • Assessing results, analyzing variance and making suitable recommendations.

Legal and Policy Formulation

  • Drafting Vendor Agreements, NDA’s and MoU’s.
  • Reviewing Vendor Agreements, Grant Agreements and MoU’s.
  • Helping staff w.r.t all the legal struggles from different angles like GST, FCRA, Income Tax.
  • Close coordination with Council’s attorneys and auditors for all related matters.
  • Look for policy violations and drafting SOPs and policies related to finance.

Accounting, Finance and others

  • Maintenance of Books of Accounts as per the Finance manual and policies
  • Maintenance of Fixed assets register and physical verifications at different intervals.
  • Keeping a close watch on the Council’s statutory compliance.
  • Close coordination with the HR and Admin team related to financial matters.
  • Well versed to all TDS and TCS provisions including return filing and rates of deductions.
  • All other supporting tasks

Selection Criteria

Education and Experience

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce or CA Inter. Candidates having an add-on Bachelor’s degree in Law will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates having relevant work experience in similar industries or set-ups will be preferred.

Main skills

  • Self-starters with strong analytic skills and able to apply qualitative methodologies to collate and analyse information in a meaningful manner.
  • Must be an adept user of MS-office suit (word, excel, and powerpoint presentations). Advanced excel skills are a must.
  • Basic knowledge of Accounting and ability to use professional packages like Tally and SAP would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of various laws governing the Council and its Stakeholders (like Indian Contract Act 1872, Goods & Services Act 2017, Income Tax Act 1961, The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010, The Indian Trusts Act 1882, The Companies Act, 2013 etc.) would be an added advantage.
