Job Opportunity for Head of Fundraising at PETA India in Delhi/Mumbai

Reports to: Director / Sr. Vice President of International Affairs

Location: Mumbai or Delhi

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage all relevant fundraising areas with a focus on major gifts, events, trusts and foundations, corporate social responsibility, and legacies
  • Grow PETA India’s base of members and supporters across India and around the world
  • Develop short- and long-term fundraising goals as well as effective strategies to achieve these goals
  • Develop the annual fundraising budget, including by setting specific fundraising goals and benchmarks
  • Following the group’s goals, standards, and guidelines, develop acquisition strategies for large donations and promote the development of lasting relationships with our donors
  • Organise and participate in fundraising events to strengthen relationships with our donors
  • Take responsibility for the guidance and support of other large donation fundraisers and coordinate donor communication
  • Identify new types of technology for fundraising projects and more efficient workflow
  • Serve as the first point of contact for stakeholders and external groups and cooperate with other organisations as needed
  • Stay up to date with current tax legislation through your work with the Legal Department and a tax advisor, keeping the team informed of any changes
  • Maintain and expand your knowledge of relevant departmental software to improve our communication with our donors
  • Stay in regular contact with the fundraising departments of PETA India’s partner organisations in the US and UK

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for animal rights and PETA’s goals and an ability to represent them in a professional way to the public
  • A degree or training in the field of communication, marketing, or sales
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Significant professional experience in the field of fundraising
  • Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to work in a structured, independent, and proactive way
  • Willingness and ability to work on several projects at the same time with an eye for detail
  • Excellent knowledge of animal rights issues
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
  • Support for PETA’s philosophy and the ability to advocate professionally for the group’s positions on issues
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
