## Head – India Climate Leaders
**About India Climate Collaborative (ICC)**
The India Climate Collaborative (ICC) is a pioneering organization established in 2020 with the mission to empower Indian philanthropists in scaling corporate and family philanthropy for climate impact. We achieve this by unlocking philanthropic capital, identifying critical climate priorities, and building a supportive infrastructure.
Founded by prominent Indian business and philanthropic leaders including Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, and Nadir Godrej, ICC strives to be a driving force in India’s climate action landscape.
**The Role**
The India Climate Leaders (ICL) program, a key initiative of ICC, focuses on cultivating and empowering climate leaders within India’s high net-worth community. As Head of ICL, you will be instrumental in:
* **Engaging with Philanthropists and Business Leaders:** Building strong relationships with ultra-high-net-worth philanthropists and business leaders, fostering a culture of climate leadership, and inspiring them to take action at scale.
* **Developing Strategic Goals:** Defining long-term strategic goals for the ICL program, setting clear engagement strategies, and establishing measurable targets for philanthropic capital mobilization.
* **Identifying and Building Knowledge Products:** Creating and disseminating relevant knowledge products and public goods that support the climate donor ecosystem in India, making climate philanthropy accessible to new entrants.
* **Facilitating Giving Opportunities:** Working closely with civil society organizations (CSOs) and the ICC’s Sectors team to identify impactful giving opportunities aligned with domestic donor priorities.
* **Managing Donor Relationships:** Cultivating and managing relationships with both domestic and international climate donors, connecting Indian families with experienced global climate philanthropists.
* **Leading and Mentoring the Team:** Providing leadership and mentorship to the ICL team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages professional growth.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Climate Philanthropist Engagement:**
* Build a robust pipeline of climate philanthropists with clear annual and long-term goals for capital allocation towards Indian climate solutions.
* Secure substantial funding commitments from philanthropists to drive climate action.
* **Climate Solutions Pipeline:**
* Develop a comprehensive list of ready-to-fund climate opportunities through collaboration with CSOs and national and global networks.
* Implement a streamlined process for due diligence and identification of new opportunities.
* Effectively communicate and translate the solutions pipeline to potential donors.
* **Expanded Ecosystem:**
* Strengthen and expand existing partnerships with international and domestic organizations to enhance the reach and impact of climate philanthropy in India.
* Facilitate knowledge exchange between climate leaders and philanthropists in other Global South markets.
* **Program Operations:**
* Collaborate with ICC’s senior leadership to shape and influence the organization’s strategy, direction, and growth.
* Strengthen ICC’s position as a key enabler for climate action in India’s philanthropic landscape.
**Skills and Experience:**
* Minimum of fifteen years of experience in fundraising, donor advising, or related fields.
* Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and managing eight-figure gifts from philanthropists, particularly ultra-high-net-worth donors.
* Strong project management skills, adept at defining workstreams and managing multiple timelines and deadlines.
* Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively convene diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with persuasive and attentive communication style.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and collaborate with diverse staff and partners.
* Proven experience in managing and mentoring team members inclusively, with strong coaching and development skills.
* A good working knowledge of climate change, with past climate experience being advantageous.
* Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Demonstrated agility and adaptability in entrepreneurial, ambiguous, or changing environments.
* A Master’s degree is preferred.
