We invest in (through grants, low-cost debt, and equity) innovative startups and SMEs in the Health, Agriculture, Gender Inclusion, and Climate Action sectors, along with specific technical assistance.
Job Description
We seek an experienced and passionate professional who is deeply committed to creating social impact. This role involves overseeing multiple functions with lean teams, and ensuring outputs are aligned with Villgro’s strategic direction. The Head of Operations will work closely with the Leadership Team and will report directly to the CEO.
This is a relevant and rewarding role for someone looking to transition from the corporate world to the social impact / development sectors.
Role deliverables
Marketing & Communications
- Be the brand custodian, drive communications & advocate for our strategy with key stakeholders.
- This function has a two-member team.
Talent Management & Organization Development
- Oversee the hiring, retention, and growth of talented individuals
- Be accountable for HR processes (recruitment, induction, KPI setting, performance reviews, capacity building) executed by the HR & OD Manager.
Impact Measurement, Technology & Analytics:
- Be accountable for the digital infrastructure (proprietary MIS platform, AWS, and other technology tools related to incubation) and interface with partner agencies. This function has a two-member team.
- Lead the critical impact monitoring & measurement function, which includes the setting of impact metrics for programs and our portfolio companies.
Administration
- Oversee a three-member team that maintains Villgro’s infrastructure and assets, supports the team and is responsible for our records.
- Own the development and deployment of organizational policies and processes.
You would be a great fit if you,
- Have at least 15 years of experience, in which recent experience working with non-profits or social enterprises is desired.
- Are a person with a high level of integrity and have ability to maintain trust and confidentiality.
- Have led people, overseen their growth and have led multiple projects.
- Are experienced in working closely with Trustees or Board members.
Your past educational qualifications are not as important as your experiences in the fields of Technology, Impact Measurement, Talent Management & Marketing.

Compensation:
We pay reasonably well and comparably higher within the nonprofit sector and there is a variable component.
