## Head, Operations, West & Central – Economic Inclusion Program
**About The/Nudge Institute:**
The/Nudge Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending poverty in India within a lifetime. We partner with governments, markets, and civil society to build resilient livelihoods for all. Our team comprises some of India’s best leaders and entrepreneurs from various sectors, including industry, academia, government, and development.
**What We’re Solving For:**
We focus on helping households in poverty who are financially and socially vulnerable. We utilize a targeted, multi-faceted, and sequenced model called the graduation approach, proven to effectively and sustainably lift households out of poverty.
**Our Mission:**
The/Nudge Institute has been piloting this program for the past three years and is now working to expand its reach. Our mission is to:
* Continue implementing the program to refine its design for maximum impact at scale.
* Enable more NGOs to adopt the program through technical and capacity-building support.
* Partner with the government to provide research, design, and implementation support for adoption.
* Generate data on poverty and evidence on the graduation approach to encourage government adoption at scale.
* Develop technology solutions for NGOs and governments to implement the program effectively and efficiently.
**Job Location:**
This position can be based in either Bangalore or Ahmedabad, but frequent travel to program locations (Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Gujarat) will be required.
**Experience Required:**
* **15+ years of experience** in managing operations at scale or building operations for scalability.
* Proven experience in managing and coaching high-performing teams.
* Experience in developing and driving partnerships to scale within rural development and government ecosystems.
**Must-Haves:**
* Willingness to travel to remote rural locations in India to set up and manage operations.
* Demonstrated growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
* Willingness to receive feedback and work to improve based on it.
* High self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses.
* Proven ability to work under uncertainty, articulate vision, and secure buy-in from stakeholders.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
**Additional Requirements:**
* Openness to staying and traveling in deep rural areas.

* Fluency in Hindi and English (written and spoken).
**Position Overview:**

We are seeking an Associate Director, Head – Operations, West & Central, End Ultra-Poverty to join our team. This role will be responsible for driving the growth and scale of our programs in the West & Central regions of India, collaborating with government and non-profit organizations.
**Key Outcomes:**
* Deliver impact at scale for our programs targeting the poorest of the poor in partnership with government and non-profit organizations.
* Build a high-performing operations team across multiple states to deliver on these outcomes through direct implementations and government partnerships.
* Partner with and manage partnerships with state governments to support their implementation at scale.
* Deliver on results and enhance partnerships with governments for scale-up.
* Ensure quality and operational excellence by strengthening team capacity and implementing technology and processes.
* Collaborate with Product teams to design for impact and scale in partnership with operations and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation.
