JOB PURPOSE
To Plan and Lead Industry Connect initiatives, existing & new, for all programme models in Magic Bus w.r.t. Labor market information system, creation of employer focussed courses & programs, placement of Trainees and employer relationship management
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead nationally the Employer Connect activities to assess, connect, on-board and retain high-employment Employers who meet the agreed partnership criteria
- Create and lead market scanning activities to target the right Employers with the right vacancies, pay scale, equal employment opportunities and career progression opportunities
- Contact prospective national and regional level employers to determine needs and work with the
- Content & Training teams to create, test, roll out and monitor customized courses/programmes
- Build and scale up relationships with existing Employment partners at national and regional level, and generate vacancies in collaboration with regional Placement leads
- Conduct periodic survey studies through various tools & techniques to gather labor market information, such as prevailing wages, hours, training, and employment possibilities
- Conduct/organize, in collaboration with reginal/local Placement Managers, on-campus employer visits, employer engagement in curriculum design & candidate screening, internships, on-job-training, industry events, etc – Conducting and organising the job drives doesn’t become the responsibility of national head, but he needs to proactively ensure that the job drives carried out are effective and there is a positive outcomes. Analysing the job drive and strategizing it in a better was for future become his responsibility.
- Build National level partnerships with multi-sector Employers, Staffing companies, Industry Associations, Govt. backed agencies, etc.
- Organize various Employer and Industry Practitioners’ event for networking, awareness building of Get Into program, Placement drives, etc.
- Build capacities of the regional placement managers with specific in puts on market trends & developments, market scanning, employer screening, pitching & closing partnerships, placement performance analytics, better job retention of candidates, and related Processes & Tools
- Lead a due diligence mechanism to onboard employers – this is covered in point 1
- Formalize MOUs with employers
- Seek regular feedback from employers on performance of youths placed and share analysis/reports to further improve the program
- Facilitate employer connect initiatives at central and regional level
- Participate and showcase Magic Bus in National level employer forums, meetings and seminars
- Regular engagement with alumni youths to seek employer feedback.
- Guide and Support the city level placement managers to achieve their desired goals.
- Build connect with the CHRO for the top 20 MB employers
- Provide overall leadership to the MB employers support team
- Ensure MB employer support team generate high volume of live employment opp for the youths
Desired Competencies
- Understanding of the Skill ecosystem and Youth demographics in India
- Labor market information including industrial clusters, prevailing wages, work hours, skill requirements, and employment possibilities
- Various Youth profiling & assessment tools for screening of right youth for the program
- An understanding of the business economy and what drives corporate behaviour
- Understanding of the Skills Training funding landscape in India which include CSR funded, Govt. funded, Institutional funded, HNI funded, etc.
- Exceptionally good written and oral communication skills, Presentation skills and Networking skills
- Facilitation, consultancy, negotiation and relationship management skills
- Training & Coaching skills for team development
- Data analytics skills
- Ability to work with and influence people at all levels
- Ability to plan and prioritise work and manage a busy workload under pressure, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively network and liaise for business & partnerships
- Able to work comfortably in a changing organisation

Qualification and Experience
- 15+ years of work experience in the relevant field of corporate/HR relations and placement experience in a leadership role along with having a strong existing employer network
- Post-graduation in Management/MSW/Social Science (preferable)
- Experience in managing a portfolio of Employment related activities in a target-driven environment
- Experience in client relationship management
- Experience in managing/securing commercial/non-commercial partnerships and an understanding of sponsorship, marketing and communications
- Experience in managing internal relationships within multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience in planning & managing Placements of very high-volume Projects
- Willing to travel extensively to all parts of India
