Scope of Work : HR Consultant at Waste Warriors Society

Waste Warriors is a non-profit organization catalyzing systemic change to solve the waste management crisis of the Indian Himalayan Region. Our work lies at the intersection of Climate Change, Biodiversity Habitat Conservation, and livelihood generation. With a team of 190+ Warriors spread across various locations nestled in the beautiful landscapes of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.We focus on enabling better governance, addressing infrastructure and policy gaps, and activating communities to co-create solutions. By promoting local entrepreneurship, we aim to ignite agency in local communities to earn their identity through dignified livelihoods.

We are looking for an HR Consultant who has experience working with mid to large sized NGOs (Societies or trusts) and has sound industry knowledge, Labor Laws and compliances related to HR. HR consultant will be expected to Visit our Head office in Dehradun once a week and will be traveling to other office locations for facility Audits as and when required.

Statutory and legal Compliances

  • Audits of Statutory Compliances like EPF, ESIC, Gratuity etc.
  • Generating Arrears Challans of ESIC and EPF as case to case basis
  • Maintaining deposit receipts and challans in file
  • EPF Withdrawal or Advance requests of employees
  • Liasoning with EPF and ESI departments incase we need any their assistance in resolving old and existing matters
  • Weekly HR Helpdesk for WWS to consult and resolve compliance related queries

Payroll Support

  • Share Minimum Wage Structure as per Uttarakhand and Himachal States

Payroll Audit

  • Consultation on CTC components and Breakup


  • Documentation Audit
  • Evaluating and Monitoring POSH Minutes meeting
  • Government Forms and Formats related to compliances
  • Police Verification for all employees
  • Auditing compliances with all HR policies internal to WW

Legal Compliances

  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
  • Periodic reviews of our policies and suggestions for improving it, or adding new/missing policies, ensuring that all the policies are according to the Uttarkahand and Himachal Compliances.
  • Ensures monthly Audits for our Material recovery facilities and all our locations and sharing Monthly or Quarterly reports.


  • Payroll Audit report to be shared monthly before 15th Of every month.
  • Documentation Audit Report shared Quarterly but end of every Quarter.
  • Facility Audits Report to be shared Half Yearly.
  • Quarterly Presentation to be prepared for the organization on the status of Work that has been done in the last Quarter.
  • Monthly Audit report to include a summary table of all compliance status (Payroll/ legal/statutory and WW policies)

Please note:

  • We will be hiring the Consultant for a period of 1 year and would be willing to extend the contract depending on mutual understanding & agreement.
  • Experience working with Other NGOs (Societies or trusts) will be mandatory in the selection process. Please highlight any such experience as an attachment along with the quotation.
