POSITION SPECIFICATION

Position : Director – Human Resources

Location : New Delhi

Reports to : Country Head – HR, Procurement & Admin

Type of Employment : Full time contract

POSITION REQUIREMENT

HelpAge India is a secular, apolitical, non-profit and non-governmental organization, registered under the Indian Societies’ Registration Act of 1860. It voices the concerns of India’s elderly. Formed in 1978, the organisation’s mission is to work for the cause and care of disadvantaged older persons and to improve their quality of life. Its work is presently organised under four main missions – Healthcare, AgeCare, Livelihoods & Emergencies, Research Policy & Advocacy – and implemented across the entire country through our central and state units. The function teams (Resource Mobilisation, Finance, HR, Procurement and other specialist units), the Missions and States work in close conjunction and coordination under a matrix structure which has been operating over the last five years. The organisation is looking for Director – Human Resources to plan, develop and implement organisation’s development & training programs and also meet the OD needs of the organisation.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities will be to:

  • Formulate a robust Training, Learning and OD Strategy with complete focus on policies and people
  • Direct the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the organisation on both long-term and immediate needs
  • Assess and identify organisational, departmental and individual development requirements
  • Design, develop and deliver outcome-based learning solutions, HR training programs for management and employees.
  • Develop learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides and lesson plans.
  • Review evaluations of training courses, objectives and accomplishments.
  • Make assessments of effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance.
  • Consult with management on performance, organizational and leadership matters.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee job performance and overall organisation performance.
  • Create end to end learning frameworks and measuring learning effectiveness
  • Support Country Head-HR on other HR areas/initiatives/projects as required
  • Influence the desired culture in the organisation through various interventions
  • Any other HR related focus areas as may be required from time to time 

COMPETENCIES & SOFT SKILLS

· A commitment to the organisation’s role and mission.

· Expertise in identifying the development needs and creating/delivering solutions that meet the organisation’s objectives

· Though an L&D specialist, the incumbent is required to be an overall HR Generalist

· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and motivate teams across a broad array of disciplines and diverse geographies

· Excellent leadership and collaboration skills

· Willing to work on a flexible schedule with the necessary amount of travel

· Commitment to high integrity, ethics and professionalism

· A high energy, results-oriented person passionate about making a real impact

· Ability to multi task with high analytical and time-management skills

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

EXPERIENCE

Must Haves:

· Post Graduate degree in HR, Talent/OD or Psychology, from a reputed college/University

· Minimum 15 years of experience of which at least 5 years focus on L&D, policies and people

· Extensive knowledge of skill development and capacity building strategies

· Sincerely passionate about L&D and making a change

· Broad knowledge and experience in policy development and implementation, project management, organisation development and people management

· Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with Senior Management Team

· Self-motivated, solution and results oriented
