The India Technical Hub (ITH) located in New Delhi is a core pillar in the delivery of ICT support and solutions. The ITS is providing day-to-day ICT infrastructure and user support in its field locations across the globe. As part of ITS’s strategy and under the oversight of the Chief, ITS and direct supervision of the Head – ITH, the ICT Support Associate shall be assisting in the duties mentioned below. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

•   Supporting the implementation of ICT policies, management systems and strategies; complying with corporate information technology standards for the field offices;

•   Ensuring effective functioning of field offices’ hardware and software packages;

•   Performing technical functions, including assisting with the installation and repair of commercial and in-house hardware and software applications

•   Providing ICT and administrative support services and daily technical support to end users in various field offices. 

•   Assisting with routine repairs, application management, maintaining supplies inventory; provision of support in backing up and restoring files, and virus prevention;

•   Ensuring ICT security through restriction of administrative rights to prevent the loading of unauthorized software; ensuring that desktop, laptop and server passwords and related policies are in line with established corporate standards;

•   Supporting networks administration, including the establishment of offsite backup, backup logs and restoration procedures; troubleshooting network problems and responding to user needs regarding network access;

•   Providing administrative support by managing software, hardware and parts, including the maintenance of an up-to-date inventory; maintaining FOs databases and providing orientation and coaching to staff; maintaining a library of ICT-related reference materials; preparation of statistical reports as required;

•   Assisting in procurement of new equipment for the FOs and project, provision of technical specifications and information on best options in both local and international markets;

•   Maintaining Inventory and stock of supplies and spare parts in cooperation with the procurement unit;

•   Providing support to programme teams in using new IT tools and applications;

•   Ensure customer satisfaction through continuous status information.

•   Ensures data security and integrity.

•   Carrying out any other duties as may be required by the supervisor.

Education:   

•   A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized university. 

•   Relevant certifications in hardware and software management and application including CCNA; 

Experience:   

•   A minimum of Seven (7) years of working experience in ICT support. 

•   Prior UN experience will be an added advantage.

•   Good experience in client support, such as an IT Help Desk or IT User Support shall be desirable.

•   Good knowledge of PC/LAN operating systems, Microsoft Windows, corporate ICT security and viral protection systems is desirable.

Language Requirement:  

•   Fluency in English (Required).
