The Role:
- SELCO Foundation is looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working in the overall sustainable energy sector for enhancing human resources required and develop and make available training and capacity building procedures to meet the needs identified along the sustainable energy sector’s value chain
- We are looking for a professional Instructional Designer to design and develop learning and practicing experiences. The goal is to facilitate ecosystem development for the renewable energy sector focusing on capacity building and skilling.
- Skill building is approached from various angles focusing on technical skills of renewable energy technicians, entrepreneurial skills for enterprises and micro-entrepreneurs. SELCO Foundation is looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working for the content development space through the latest technologies such as Virtual Reality, 360 degree videos etc.
Responsibilities:
- Support content developer in developing engaging learning content and compelling course that enhances retention and transfer
- Align all the contents to be uploaded to Learning Management System (LMS) – online platform
- Working closely with content translator
- Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs
- State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
- Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
- Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
- Maintain project documentation and course folders
- Deriving & restructuring Solar Technical Training content based on various training outcomes for the various target audience
- Passionate about working for the content development space through the latest technologies such as Virtual Reality, 360 degree videos etc.
- Coordinate with different team members to understand the context of content
Requirements:
- An impeccable command over written and spoken English
- Familiarity with multiple instructional design approaches
- Well versed with approaches such as storytelling, conversational, scenario-led, as well as narrative
- Knowledge of various virtual classroom applications, graphic tools and other web authoring software
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Solid knowledge of course development software and at least an Learning Management System
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- Bachelor’s degree / Post Graduate Degree
- Certification in Instructional Designing preferred
- Ability to keep to deadlines
