Job Opportunity for Instructional Specialist – Digital Learning at Akanksha Foundation in Mumbai

Position Summary: 

Instructional specialist for Digital learning is uniquely positioned to integrate technology in our teaching and learning process to implement Akanksha’s vision that aims to develop the core life skills and personalise the learning for all our students. We believe that effective Digital learning can only be fruitful if every teacher can integrate content with pedagogy and technology. The team looks at technology as an enabler to the entire teaching and learning process and not as separate pillar. We support all our schools across Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur to drive the same by giving them personalised support with regards to digital infrastructure, best practices using technology and empowering digital learning innovators.

You will be reporting to Senior Instructional Specialist

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Supporting schools (across Mumbai/Pune and Nagpur) in effectively integrating technology (tabs/iPads/laptops) in their day-day teaching – learning processes

• Should come with a strong pedagogical background and should be able to support all grades/all subject with regards to technology integration

• Designing and executing workshops/Professional development sessions to build the capacity of educators across the network in the optimal use of technology in their respective classes

• Coordinating with the IT team to set up the required infrastructure in every school in our network

• Continuous learning of different technology and how can it be integrated in the classroom

• Supporting schools in the design of school trainings and collaborative opportunities among the digital core team of the school/whole staff

• Working collaboratively with other Instructional specialists (K-2,3-8 and 9-10)

• Supporting schools to identify effective instructional practices, aligning them to the academic goals/life skills goals

• Coordinating with different technology partner initiatives and creating a proposal about their application

• Coordinating with Impact team to make surveys on digital learning initiatives

What you need for this role:

• Ability to demonstrate a variety of strong pedagogical practices

• Ability to explore all subject areas from an instructional lens

• Ability to blend technology in the everyday teaching learning process

• Strong Oral and Written communication skills

• Good planning and organizing skills

• Collaborates with different members in the team

• Creatively thinks of solving different problems at work

• Preferably 3+ years of experience in the education sector

• Experience of effectively using technology (ios +android) atleast for 2 years in the teaching learning process

• Content expertise in atleast 2 subjects
