  • Open Market Support: We support millers to cost-neutrally fortify chakki atta in the open market

  • Evidence Generation: We conduct monitoring and evaluation of activities to inform the public about the value of food fortification

Position Overview

The Junior Human Resources (HR) Officer will be based out of Pune.  They will maintain Fortify Health’s existing HR systems and support in building new ones as the organisation and its operations expand. The Junior HR Officer will support various domains of Fortify Health’s HR-related activities, such as recruitment, day-to-day HR queries, and administration relating to current staff. They will provide ad-hoc support to the Administration Officer and Junior Finance and Procurement Officer as and when requested. They will work closely with and report to Fortify Health’s Human Resources Officer.

Responsibilities and activities

Hiring and onboarding

  • Assist the HR Officer and communications team in the recruitment process to effectively share job adverts that attract qualified candidates
  • Efficiently coordinate with applicants for specified roles, including setting up interviews and assessments, and ensuring a smooth and structured process
  • Work closely with the HR Officer to regularly update and improve interview templates, ensuring they align with best practices and capture relevant information
  • Collaborate with the HR and Administration Manager and HR Officer to develop and implement comprehensive onboarding plans for new team members, to ensure their successful integration into the organisation and department

Human resources

  • Provide support in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Ensure all new staff are registered and onboarded on to relevant communication platforms, such as Slack, and added to appropriate email groups, enabling effective communication and collaboration from the beginning
  • Offer constructive feedback on policies and procedures, based on practical experience and knowledge of best HR practices, to help improve and streamline processes
  • Ensure meticulous maintenance of team member records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policy and legal requirements
  • Assist the HR Officer in organising team bonding activities to sustain Fortify Health’s positive and inclusive work environment

Requirements

  • Recent graduate or having at least one year of experience/background in human resources, NGO or industry operations, administration, or similar in India
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in any field 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A disciplined, organised and meticulous approach to work, with an ability to work under pressure when required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Strong sense of intuition and judgement
  • Very high integrity and ethical standards
  • Excellent documentation skills and strong IT skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to relocate to Pune
  • Authorisation to work in India (Indian national, eligibility for OCI, etc.)
  • Fluency in English and Hindi
