Job Description
The Lead/APM, School Clubs, Catalyse will be part of a new initiative to drive school volunteering program empowering school students and student leaders in driving volunteering across causes in their school. The Lead/APM, in the initial phase, is responsible for piloting projects/initiatives in Chennai to understand the dynamics of school volunteering. Post the pilot phase, they will be expected to scale the program in the coming years. The Lead/APM will have strategic and operational responsibilities including schools engagement, schools onboarding, student leaders recruitment/management/retention, project scoping, project scaling and facilitating a robust support ecosystem for student leaders.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Lead a pilot project in Chennai to understand the dynamics of school volunteering to design the most optimal model for school volunteering
- Design overall vision, goals and roadmap for the student leaders and their projects as part of the club
- Lead and execute efforts to onboard schools to run the program including communication with school management and decision makers
- Lead and execute efforts to identify, recruit and onboard student leaders from potential schools
- Plan and execute robust support structures for student leaders and volunteers including mentoring, problem solving, partnerships and expert connections
Other Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives towards promoting a strong culture of volunteerism and civic responsibility among schools and school students
- Support school management and student teams with operational aspects including but not limited to project management portal, marketing, communication and finance
- Lead the overall data collection, analysis, reporting and management for the club teams
- Lead and support in partnerships and collaborations towards scaling the number of schools, student leaders and accelerate impact of existing clubs
Preferred Education Qualification / Experience:
- Prior volunteering experience is mandatory .
- Minimum two year experience in project management is preferable
- Minimum one of of experience in managing a team is preferable
- Prior experience in the non-profit sector and volunteering with Bhumi would be advantages.

- Passionate about spreading volunteering and mobilising more volunteer leaders
- Ability to drive outcome oriented plans through the team’s collective effort
- Good influencing skills , people engagement, networking and listening skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills– English
- Good computer knowledge and MS office skills
- Highly resourceful team-player, who is self-driven
- Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
Other Information:
Reporting to: Manager, Catalyse
Designation: Lead to Asst. Prog. Manager, School Clubs, Catalyse, based on the candidate’s profile
Scope: Full time, Willing to work flexible hours
Remuneration: Rs. 400,000 to 600,000 – based on the candidate’s profile
Expected Joining Date: Immediate
Minimum commitment: Two Years
