About The Convergence Foundation

Ashish Dhawan is a leading Indian philanthropist, who in his earlier avatar founded and ran ChrysCapital, one of the first private equity funds in India. In the last decade, he has played a pivotal role in building successful institutions, such as Ashoka University, and strategic foundations, such as the Central Square Foundation, which works on ensuring quality school education for all children in India. He set up The Convergence Foundation (TCF) in 2021 to tackle the most important challenges facing India by building pioneering institutions and supporting bold leaders.

The Convergence Foundation seeks to identify the Archimedean levers for India’s growth & development high-leverage opportunities that can catalyse pivotal outcomes. We currently support fourteen organisations through their seed stage across two pillars (direct engines of growth & human capital development). The organisations work on diverse areas, such as labour-intensive manufacturing, science & technology, effective governance and acceleration of Indian philanthropy.

In the next phase of our journey, we aim to exercise our strengths as a philanthropic foundation to drive economic growth in India. While we will continue building institutions, we also aim to drive strategic projects around economic growth and development.

Position Summary:

The Convergence Foundation is seeking a strategic and dynamic individual to lead and direct initiatives that drive economic growth In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with governments, industry associations and TCF portfolio organisations under the mentorship of a distinguished business leader. As a Team Lead, you will oversee multiple work streams, helping to shape and implement innovative policies and foster transformative partnerships that will lead into designing and executing high-impact projects across various sectors such as exports, ease of doing business, women economic empowerment, etc.

We are seeking a highly intelligent and emotionally astute individual with a passion for driving change. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scaling startups or delivering high-impact solutions in a consulting capacity, with exposure to senior management

In this role, you will:

• Engage directly with TCF’s leadership, gaining unparalleled exposure and learning opportunities within the impact space.
• Translate strategic visions into tangible actions, ensuring projects achieve and exceed their intended impacts.
• Collaborate with a diverse network of senior stakeholders, advisors, and industry leaders to expand your professional network and deepen your expertise in the sector.

You will play a crucial role in tackling some of India’s most pressing challenges in economic growth and human development, influencing outcomes and inspiring national action.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategically lead the development and implementation of initiatives in collaboration with state and central government, government bodies and associations to enhance economic growth and human development.
• Work closely with a renowned senior leader to ensure that these strategic initiatives align with national priorities and are seamlessly integrated into larger plans.
• Oversee and advance multiple strategic work streams, ensuring they achieve their goals through robust planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
• Build and sustain high-level partnerships with government officials, industry leaders, and other key stakeholders to garner support and resources vital for project success.
• Provide expert guidance and support to the senior leader, facilitating informed decision-making and ensuring strategic coherence across all initiatives.
• Build high quality knowledge products for senior stakeholders in government and industry

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in top-tier consulting firms or in high-impact strategic roles.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a top-tier institution.
• Strategic Thinking: Proficient in strategic thinking, capable of supporting major initiatives under senior leadership.
• Communication Skills: Superior communication skills with the ability to negotiate and persuade high-level stakeholders. High quality knowledge outputs, especially presentations and policy briefs.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects in dynamic, fast-paced environments under the guidance of senior leadership.
• Collaboration: Strong experience working collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrated innovative problem-solving skills in complex environments.
• Adaptability: Exceptionally adaptable, with the ability to adjust strategies in response to changing conditions.
• Integrity: Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.

Compensation

Remuneration will be competitive with Indian philanthropy pay scales and will depend upon the candidate’s experience.
