Villgro is a social impact first incubator of startups and we are arguably the leaders in fostering grounds up social innovations in the impact sector. We invest in (through grants, low-cost debt, and equity) innovative startups and SMEs in the Health, Agriculture, Gender and Climate Action sectors, along with specific technical assistance. To achieve our mission of creating social impact at scale, we have expanded our incubation model to build partnerships with channel partners, networks of FPOs, SHGs and implementation NGOs. We are also building a suite of impact financing solutions that can reduce the barriers to adopting new technologies.

As an impact-first organization, we give high importance to measuring and quantifying the impact of our programs. All our decisions are supported by rigorous data collection and analysis, pertaining to both our own operations as well as our incubatees’. We use technology extensively for this. We have been pioneers in using an ERP-like system to run and measure our incubation activities. We have also developed multiple other technology tools and platforms to aid our work, and constantly aspire for more of these. We view our online properties (website, application portal etc.) as flagbearers of our brand and ensure they are cutting edge and always on.

Job Description

Villgro is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate professional who is deeply committed to creating social impact and possesses a strong entrepreneurial drive. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our technology portfolio and leading our data analytics initiatives. This role involves working closely with our team to harness the power of data analysis and uncover insights that can drive positive change.

Role deliverables

Strategy:

– Map out the technology strategy for Villgro in line with the organization’s goals. This will call for a deep understanding of Villgro’s ambitions and business processes

– Identifying and implementing upgrades to the systems to ensure they continuously support the work that Villgro is doing.

– Defining the roadmap for our internal systems to ensure they are scalable for the future strategy of the organization.

Data Analytics:

– Take ownership of data analysis and insights generation, a major part of which will be inputs the Villgro’s annual impact report

– Build and managing a small internal team to support this as well as the associated technology tools that we use

– Help the Villgro team to visualize and absorb data related to operational performance in the most intuitive manner, by adopting suitable data analytics methods and tools

– Represent Villgro at industry events pertinent to your work, and present relevant data and techniques

Tech Operations:

– Implement the tech strategy. This calls for:

o Managing the vendor relationships to implement and maintain the required technology platform including website, email, MIS, Innovation tools etc.

o Ensuring that all platforms are available 24/7, SLAs are adhered to and costs are kept within budget.

– Constantly assess usage and seek feedback from the various teams and fine tune the tech platforms to ensure maximum utilization

The ideal candidate would have,

1. Master’s degree – in engineering or computer applications

2. 8-12 years of experience in operational and management roles that involved handling complex technology projects with a good track record of delivering high-quality products within specified timelines and budgetary constraints

3. Practical experience in effectively working with large amounts of data, including the ability to analyze it comprehensively and derive valuable insights from it.

4. Excellent people management skills and vendor management skills

5. Fantastic communication and persuasion skills to influence stakeholders.

6. A deep desire to create an impact on society

7. The drive and high level of initiative + ownership

Compensation:

We pay reasonably well and comparably higher within the nonprofit sector and there is a variable
component.
