**Job Location:**
Thane District, Mira Road, India (Maharashtra)
**Experience Required:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Social Sciences or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, particularly in development projects.
* Prior experience in primary level teaching preferred.
* Strong understanding of education, language development, and literacy.
**Job Description:**
As a Library Coach, you will play a crucial role in supporting and coaching teachers, librarians, and principals to enhance reading habits among children. You will ensure a highly functional library environment and contribute to the success of Room to Read’s literacy program.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop a deep understanding of Room to Read’s literacy program design.
* Manage, monitor, and support library program interventions across assigned project schools, adhering to program guidelines.
* Conduct teacher training sessions and provide ongoing support.
* Prepare monthly reports for your supervisor on program implementation.
* Provide insightful feedback on program design and implementation, focusing on progress towards outcomes and offering solution-oriented approaches.
* Conduct regular school visits to monitor program effectiveness and provide guidance.
* Support the initial setup of libraries, including site verification, community engagement, and coordinating the delivery of resources.
* Collaborate with schools to make minor improvements to library spaces.
* Participate in regular teacher and librarian training programs on literacy program implementation.
* Model best library management practices and systems for designated librarians.
* Observe, demonstrate, and coach teachers and librarians in implementing library periods and reading activities.
* Support and participate in Family & Community Engagement (F&CE) activities, fostering a strong community connection with the program.
* Regularly update the principal/headmaster on program progress and coach them on how to support teachers and ensure the long-term sustainability of literacy outcomes.
* Collect monitoring data, ensuring high data quality and accuracy.
* Analyze school-level data and information, identifying corrective actions and integrating them into school-level planning.
* Ensure effective usage of “Home as a Learning Space” materials through home and community visits.
* Conduct library reading camps during school holidays at school and community levels.
* Attend review meetings at various levels and complete program and financial reports timely.
* Support donor visits by providing project demonstrations and presentations.
* Document best practices and lessons learned, sharing them with the literacy program team.
* Participate in any other activities required to fulfill the organization’s objectives.
