**Job Location:** Khunti, Jharkhand, India
**Number of Positions:** Two (2)
**Preferred Candidate:** Female
**Experience Required:** 1-2 years of relevant work experience in education, gender, and life skills. Prior experience working with school teachers and government entities is preferred.
**Position Overview:**
The Life Skills Education Mentor will primarily support tutors, facilitate life skills and career guidance sessions, conduct home visits, organize parent/community meetings, and assist the Program Coordinator in project activities. The position requires extensive travel to schools and community learning centers. Responsibilities include strengthening linkages with School Management Committees (SMCs), collecting program data, conducting monitoring, and data entry into THF’s database. This role involves direct interaction with adolescent students in government schools and reports to the Program Coordinator. Close collaboration with tutors, career guidance counselors, and the Program Coordinator is expected.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
* **Program Implementation and Training:** Provide support to tutors; facilitate life skills and career guidance sessions; schedule home visits; support tutors in scheduling academic support; observe tutoring classes and provide support; conduct field-based monitoring; complete monitoring forms; support baseline assessment administration; facilitate teacher meetings; participate in THF training and meetings; provide feedback to schools/tutors; participate in stakeholder visits; participate in career guidance activities.
* **Liaison, Networking, and Linkages:** Establish and strengthen monitoring mechanisms; liaise with the government; build linkages with other organizations; support tutors in maintaining academic records; support tutors in student assessment.
* **Ensuring Quality Program:** Identify factors impeding program quality; track quality standards; provide updates to the Program Coordinator; utilize observation forms to provide feedback.
* **Planning, Reporting, and Documentation:** Ensure tutors maintain program records; collect and submit data; enter data into THF’s database; document best practices and lessons learned; report challenges to the reporting manager; collect student attendance records; prepare reports on home visits and stakeholder meetings.
**Qualifications:**
* Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Development, Gender Studies, or an equivalent field.
* 1-2 years of relevant experience in education, gender, and life skills.
* Prior experience working with school teachers and the government.
* Extensive travel required.
* Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
* Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* Prior experience in facilitation and training.
