## Job Description – Manager / Assistant Manager – Volunteer Management

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our National HR team as a Manager / Assistant Manager – Volunteer Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, training, development, engagement, and retention. You will play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive volunteer environment, ensuring that volunteer activities align with Bhumi’s mission and objectives.
**Job Responsibilities:**
* **Volunteer Recruitment:** Develop and implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers, ensuring sufficient numbers for all programs and activities.
* **Volunteer Training and Development:** Design and conduct orientation sessions, training programs, and workshops to equip volunteers with necessary skills and knowledge.
* **Engagement and Retention:** Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer environment to enhance engagement and retention. Recognize and reward volunteer contributions regularly.
* **Collaboration:** Work closely with program managers and other staff to understand volunteer needs and align volunteer activities with organizational goals.
* **Reporting:** Prepare regular reports on volunteer activities, engagement levels, and program outcomes for internal review and external reporting purposes.
* **Strategic Planning:** Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for volunteer engagement, ensuring alignment with Bhumi’s mission and objectives.
**Required Skills and Experience:**
* Proven experience in volunteer management, preferably in an HR role within an NGO or similar organization.
* Excellent communication skills (English, Hindi, and/or Tamil) with the ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of volunteers.
* Awareness of the diverse backgrounds and needs of volunteers and beneficiaries.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Willingness to travel nationally and locally as required.
* Proficiency in using volunteer management software and other tools to track volunteer engagement and program impact.
* Data-oriented and result-oriented mindset, with a focus on impact and purpose over process.
