Job Opportunity for Manager-Climate Change and Sustainability at IPE Global in New Delhi

Job Description:

We are looking to recruit a Manager/Senior Manager who will lead the research, management, and expansion of the exciting work undertaken by the Climate change and sustainability vertical of IPE Global. She/He will primarily be responsible to do primary and secondary data collection, geospatial, and meta-analysis. The work might require frequent field visits and coordination with various stakeholders. She/he will have to perform primary and secondary data collection and analysis. She/he should be equipped to perform spatially and meta-analysis of climatological variables using mapping and ML-based tools and should be prudent in using ARC GIS/Q-GIS. She/he should have experience in developing working on climatological models and big data analytical tools. She/he should have hands on experience on GRADS/ Python/MARS etc. She/He will also contribute to Business Development, which includes gaining early business insights and leading proposal writing; upon win, setting up teams for implementation, and then taking on programme management function for the successful delivery of the programme/project.

The Climate Change and Sustainability vertical at IPE Global has substantial experience delivering multiyear and high-impact programmes. These programmes are supported by leading donors and foundations and are implemented in partnership with coveted research institutions, civil society organisations, and public institutions. Key Responsibilities

Research (40%)

• Undertake and support on sectoral climate risk assessments using spatial and meta-analysis
• To support and contribute to developing granular climatological models
• Conduct and support in collecting primary and secondary data collection across supply and value chains
• Perform spatially and meta-analysis of climatological variables using mapping and ML-based tools
• Perform big data using tools like MS Excel, STATA, R, etc
• Perform and design field surveys not limited to questionnaire designing, coordinating with field staffs

Business Development (40%)

• Identifying new business opportunities within India and South Asia, developing leads, and contacting potential donors.
• Keeping up to date with trends within the sector, undertaking outreach activities, generating reports, and presenting an analysis of business development progress.
• Expanding on Climate Change and Sustainability’s current work, identify growth opportunities in close partnership with team leaders and senior management.
• Writing high-quality technical proposals and contributing to all aspects of financial proposal development.
• Building quality consortiums by understanding existing capabilities and experience, bringing together a relevant team to fulfill prospective client objectives and goals, and assisting team members to win business with identified leads.
• Contributing to weekly/monthly/annual presentations, including events in Business Development updates, strategy meets, etc, when required.

Programme Management (20%):

• Coordinate with project implementation teams to ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
• Work in close coordination with project teams and undertake quality delivery.
• Provide support to identify and secure partners, consultants, and full-time staff.
• Oversee routine project management activities, including reviewing and submitting project reports to donors, developing budgets and work plans, and backstop operations as needed.
• Conduct desk and field research and lead in creating reports, presentations, issue/policy briefs, and articles.
• Develop appropriate collaterals to showcase IPE Global’s work.
• Build, structure, and develop knowledge to share internally, within the organization, and at the ecosystem level.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational:

• Master’s degree in with a specialisation in Climate Science, Environmental Science, GIS Environment Technology and/or other relevant field is a must. About 5-8 years of relevant experience.

Professional Attributes:

• A fair understanding of satellite imaging and modeling tools that are used for risk assessments.
• Previous experience in leading proposal development for bilateral/multilateral organisations, foundations, and philanthropies.
• Excellent presentation skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrable team management experience, and an ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in multi-cultural and multi-ethnic teams.
• Preference for candidates with knowledge and skills in project management
