Reporting Relationship: Manager, Disability —-> Lead, Disability

Minimum Qualification: Master’s degree / Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, Disability Studies or Psychology.

Work experience in years: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Disability-related programs or initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administrative and functional aspects of SABAL Center (Sukinda) and field action project at other TSF Locations in Odisha
  • Liaise with the OMQ division, Tata Steel, TSF, and Local government authorities for the smooth functioning of SABAL and related activities.
  • Time-to-time monitoring and evaluation of projects executed by SABAL
  • Preparing and maintaining budget requirements for running SABAL activities at TSF Location in Odisha
  • Planning and execution of training program at SABAL Centre at Sukinda
  • Planning and execution of central disability programs (Sabal awards, Sabal Sahyog etc.)
  • Coordinate with all the NGO’s, PwDs, CRC and any other government agency working in the field of disability.
  • Conducting workshops, seminars / discussions as and when required in consultation with lead-Disability.
  • Designing modules and content for training and other programs of SABAL
  • Research and Documentation as and when required.
  • Any other work assigned by Lead-Disability and Head Skill Development

Behavioral Skill Sets required :

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals with Disabilities and their families.
  • Empathy, patience, and sensitivity towards the needs and challenges faced by PwDs

Technical Skill Sets required:

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of Disability, including understanding of different types of Disability and their impact on individuals.
  • Experience working with individuals with PwDs in educational, vocational, or community settings.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, communication methods (e.g., sign language), and accessibility solutions for individuals with PwDs.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs and workshops.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, Schemes, and policies related to PwDs and disability rights.
  • Fluency in English, Hindi and Odia
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the non-profit or disability sector will be an added advantage.
