**Job Summary:**

 

Bright Future is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance & Accounts Manager to oversee all aspects of the organization’s financial operations.  This pivotal role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will lead and mentor a finance team, ensuring financial accountability and supporting the organization’s mission of creating social impact.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* **Financial Management:** Oversee daily financial operations (accounts payable, receivable, payroll, cash flow); prepare, monitor, and manage budgets; develop financial strategies for optimal fund use and sustainability.

* **Accounting & Reporting:** Ensure accurate and timely financial statement preparation (compliant with accounting standards); generate periodic reports for management, donors, and stakeholders; maintain audit-ready records and documentation.

* **Compliance & Risk Management:** Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (tax filings, GST, FCRA, labor laws); liaise with auditors; develop and enforce internal controls.

* **Grant & Donor Management:** Monitor grant budgets and disbursements; prepare financial reports per donor specifications; ensure compliance with donor agreements and fund utilization guidelines.

* **Team Leadership & Capacity Building:** Lead and mentor the finance team; conduct training to enhance financial literacy among staff.

* **Stakeholder Coordination:** Collaborate with program teams; act as a financial point of contact for external stakeholders (banks, donors, vendors).

 

 

**Qualifications and Experience:**

 

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.  Professional certifications (CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.

* Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounts management, preferably within the development sector/NGO environment.

* Experience managing grants, FCRA compliance, and donor reporting is highly advantageous.

 

 

**Skills and Competencies:**

 

* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.

* Strong knowledge of accounting standards, budgeting, and financial reporting.

* Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
