About us: 

The India Climate Collaborative (ICC), registered as ‘Council of Philanthropies for Climate Action’ (CPCA), is a collective working to identify critical sectors that need investment, drive funding towards climate solutions, and enable private and corporate philanthropy to engage more effectively with climate action. We work closely with the climate ecosystem, including research organisations, implementers, government stakeholders, businesses, and more, as well as engage with our domestic and international donor base to ensure that funding flows towards high-impact climate solutions. We were founded by some of India’s pre-eminent corporate and philanthropic leaders, including Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, Nadir Godrej, and others.

An ideal addition to our team is a self-starter, always willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done. We prefer candidates with a good eye for detail, commitment to a high quality of output, and a team-centric mindset. 

Key Responsibilities: The ICL Manager will play a critical role in building on this foundation by working with the ICC team to strategically engaging with philanthropists and business leaders in India helping them become India’s pioneering climate leaders. The key objectives for the hire are:

• Create innovative engagement strategies to onboard donors to support solutions featured by ICL

• Work with external vendors/consultants to deliver on a range of both internal and external strategic projects. E.g. Putting together a state of climate philanthropy in India report or building a solutions bank of climate solutions.

• Provide funders with bespoke support and advisory in line with their priorities, including making recommendations and facilitating introductions

• Working cross-functionally to prepare briefing materials, pitch decks, and resources for funders at all levels of climate awareness

• Liaise with donors and their teams to understand requirements and expectations from the proposed grant, including the scope of the grant, the activities covered by the grant, the expected outputs/outcomes and impact, and the budget, amongst other detail. Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of the proposal from ideation and drafting to editing, proof-reading and timely submission

• Assist with supporting documentation such as the budgets, monitoring & evaluation or any additional materials required by the donor.

• Support ICC leadership for donor meetings, updates and convenings. This will include: creating presentations and talking points for meetings, drafting memos, pre-reads and minutes of the meeting.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8-10 years of fundraising and/or equivalent donor advising experience.

• Strong project planning skills; ability to define workstreams for others, manage multiple timelines and deadlines.

• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills and convening capabilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to be both persuasive and attentive. Ability to convey a point of view in a concise and structured way; influence key stakeholders to action through storytelling and data.

• Proven ability to lead, engage, and collaborate with staff and partners across various cultures and backgrounds to achieve shared goals.

• Understanding climate change and/or passion for learning more about it.

• Ability to work independently in a fast paced & dynamic environment.

• Demonstrated agility and adaptability in entrepreneurial, ambiguous, or changing environments.

Location: Mumbai/Remote
