The Hans Foundation, established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through Health, Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organisations in India through its donor – RIST, USA.

1.             JOB PURPOSE

The Manager-IT at The Hans Foundation plays a pivotal role in leading IT department initiatives by identifying areas of improvement and developing innovative software and infrastructure solutions to enhance organizational operations. This role encompasses overall information and technology management, establishment of best practices and processes to foster high performance, effectiveness, and user satisfaction.

The Manager-IT will track and communicate both quantitative and qualitative metrics to demonstrate initiative level and overall IT performance. Additionally, this position involves coordinating with internal teams, stakeholders, vendors, and service providers for planning, execution, tracking, and management of IT operations.

The Manager-IT will proactively manage internal and external risks and dependencies, ensuring predictability, adherence to commitments, and timelines. Collaborating with IT Governance and the Senior Management Team, the Manager-IT will drive strategic initiatives requiring IT intervention and support.

Furthermore, the Manager-IT will provide essential inputs for IT budgeting and costing, including annual, semi-annual, and need-based assessments.

2.               KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

·     Architect, design, implement, run and maintain THF infrastructure across multiple locations and teams.

·     Conduct technical evaluations and validations of third-party applications, software packages, solutions, products, and services aligned with user needs and business outcomes.

·     Understand user requirements, goals, and needs to develop solution designs, execution plans, and successful implementations.

·     Manage vendor and service provider activities, ensuring visibility and providing quantitative and qualitative information on a short-term (e.g., daily and weekly), mid-term (e.g., monthly and milestone based), and long-term (e.g., quarterly and overall plan) basis.

·     Continually evolve, maintain, and streamline IT governance checklists, guidelines, processes, practices, and policies to foster a common understanding.

·     Foster the growth and development of the in-house IT team, aligning their skills and capabilities with future needs of THF.

·     Conduct pilot evaluations and implementations to improve product and service deliveries within a vendor-driven environment.

·     Manage, enhance, and implement THF’s IT infrastructure and digital solution needs.

·     Provide inputs and make informed decisions regarding IT costing, budgeting, and procurement.

·     Establish well-defined processes and policies for IT operations.

·     Shortlist products, service providers, and vendors based on technical evaluations.

·     Benchmark the technical and functional acceptance of products and services.

·     Report progress and track all IT activities and initiatives with key stakeholders.

·     Implement digital tools for visibility, tracking, reporting, and enabling decision-making for key stakeholders.

·     Develop a long-term IT vision and growth roadmap, aligning strategic initiatives (IT and non-IT) with mid-term and short-term implementation plans that are traceable and trackable to user needs and desired outcomes.

3.             EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

·     B-Tech/MCA/M. Sc(Computer Science) from a recognized University

·     Certifications like MCSE/MCSA will be preferred

4.             PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

·     8-10 years of Proven experience in IT

5.             KEY / REQUIRED SKILLS

·     Proficient understanding of SDLC, DevOps, Agile methodologies, and frameworks.

·     Familiarity with the ITIL framework.

·     Proficiency in digital work management tools such as JIRA and Trello.

·     Development experience using object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, and C#.

·     Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix servers, including installation, maintenance, and administration.
