Development Alternatives Group has been promoting ‘inclusive entrepreneurship’ a phenomenon that is characterized by systemic change that enables under-represented groups such as youth and women to access entrepreneurship opportunities, thereby leading to social inclusion, quality employment, and sustainable economic growth. In the pursuit of the above, our programs leverage social innovation tools to unleash entrepreneurial energies in women & youth and build positive ecosystems.
Our approaches in flagship projects such as Work4Progress have been recognised as best practices by the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank for entrepreneurship-led job creation. It has also been featured as a UN SDG good practice.
In order to understand such deep and systemic changes, we have developed a learning system that is based on the principles and techniques of dialogue, analysis and reflection. The learning system in essence is geared to reiterate social innovation and ground-up action for enterprise development and job creation in rural India.
We are currently looking for a Learning & Knowledge Manager who will be able to support the identification of significant changes (positive and negative: expected and unexpected) that are occurring and support in developing strategies with the team to adapt to adapt to new challenges in the innovation system.
The Learning & Knowledge Manager will be responsible for the following:
Learning & Knowledge Management
- Manage sense-making in entrepreneurship initiatives through methods such as development evaluation.
- Maintain high-quality, up-to-date content based on internal learning (including management notes) and external knowledge.
- Support a strong learning culture embedded in our programmes and operations.
- Facilitate learning from project results, evolutions, reviews and through designing specific learning and knowledge exchange exercises with program stakeholders.
Knowledge Development and Transference
- Package the processes, knowledge and learning in forms of process manuals, toolkits, technical reports and narratives for external transference.
- Be responsible for secondary and field research, developing new social innovation methods and incorporate learning into knowledge products and communication.
- Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes against other entrepreneurship / livelihood development programmes.
Desirable Qualities:
- Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills to help drive the social innovation based activities and objectives.
- Excellent communication skills required (both written and verbal).
- Experience in high quality research and working in the livelihoods / enterprise and development field.
