Job Description:
The Role Context: He / She will be responsible for legal drafting, corporate advisory, compliance and limitations, if any for the organization at a global level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard company interest by proactively identifying & prioritizing legal risks, and having clear risk mitigation strategies
- Draft, restructure, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial contracts including Lease Agreements, Grant Agreements, Service Contracts, Vendor Services Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Purchase and License Agreements, Staffing, Consulting IT Procurement Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Software and Data License Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements and other commercial contracts.
- Draft reply to show cause notices, letters, any communication received from the regulators.
- Responsible for policies, processes and implementing framework to assess and ensure that our ecosystem have adequate data protection measures in place, including training all team members at global locations
- Maintain repository of all standard and negotiated contracts, manage workflow, and ensure compliance from draft to delivery.
- Periodically update business and senior management on the progress of all legal issues and risks
- Lead legal research, analysis, interpreting and advising new laws and regulations to various teams such as content, operations, finance, HR, etc.
KRAs/ KPIs:
- Internal customer NPS (>50)
- Percentage of risks mitigated (100%)
- Average time taken to review a contract (48 hours)
- External Legal spend (Minimal except when domain expertise is needed)
Skills & Experience:
- 8 to 10 years of experience as an in-house counsel/ law firm
- Qualified LLB, preferably from a Tier 1 law school
- Should have extensively worked on drafting different commercial agreements, with attention to detail.
- Should be up to date with legal compliances & conduct regular audits.
- Provide information, advice and training to leader, associates and foundation programs on the implementation of and compliance with all local data protection requirements (Data Privacy and Security). Working knowledge on GDPR will be an added advantage.
- Should possess experience in dealing with stakeholders at all levels and regions, and manage their expectations & deliverables.
- Should have liasioning experience with Government authorities and other legal partners/consultants.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Energetic and solution oriented with ability to influence stakeholders.
- Should have sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
- Agile and is comfortable working with change and uncertainty.
- Experience in Latin America laws will be an added advantage.
