Job Description

The Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation will work closely with all programme teams of Bhumi to ensure goals are achieved while enabling the team to constantly learn from the evidence gathered and improve the model. The Manager will play a crucial role in measuring the impact of our interventions, learning from data, and making evidence-based decisions to improve our programmes. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving positive change through evidence-based practices.

Primary Responsibilities included but not limited to :

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework that aligns with the Bhumi’s vision, mission and values.
  • Design data collection tools, surveys, and systems to gather relevant information from the schools, shelter homes, and community centres.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of programs. Facilitate learning sessions with staff to draw insights from data and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Analyze and report quantitative and qualitative data to assess the progress and impact of projects.
  • Lead impact assessments and contribute to the development of case studies to highlight the organization’s success stories and lessons learned.

Preferred Education Qualification / Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in M&E Role
  • Classroom experience (through fellowships/other structured channels) would be an advantage
  • A Masters degree in Social Work, Development Communication or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, data collection techniques & tools, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse team environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to invest stakeholders and build partnerships
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Tamil.
  • High emotional maturity
  • Highly resourceful team-player, who is also self-driven
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions

Other Information:

Scope: Full time

Remuneration: 9 LPA to 12 LPA – Based on candidate’s profile

Designation: Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Impact

Reporting to: Executive Director

Expected Joining Date: Immediate

Location: Chennai

Minimum commitment: Two years
