We are looking for a passionate individual who is keen on taking up a policy research role. Swaniti Initiative provides technical, strategic, and research support to policymakers, and district and state administration. The chosen candidate shall work on developing high-quality research materials, developing proposals, and creating infographics. The role will focus on data policy research, evaluation, developing proposals, and policy analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Writing research papers on various topics of national and international importance
  • Conducts policy research and analysis to support existing projects as well as proposals for new bodies of work; synthesizes research findings to identify and recommend best practices.
  • Develop proposals for projects 
  • Extracts, collects, and aggregates data across databases, information sources, survey responses, and other data sources; ensures data quality; cleans and checks existing data for consistency and accuracy.
  • Develops data visualizations for diverse audiences and develops, formats, and prepares reports, charts, and/or graphs for varying documents and written and oral presentations for both internal and external audiences; collaborates with teams to design and help integrate data into an approved format.
  • Conducts data standardization processes; proactively identifies and proposes alternatives to improve the stability, performance, and accuracy of the data.
  • Assists with one-pagers and topic briefs to support the team’s work.
  • Assists in efforts to improve internal information tracking systems and enhance the policy department’s collaborations and communications on integrated activities with other members of the staff.
  • Track project timeline, deliverables, and internal/external partners across multiple projects and teams, proactively communicating progress and potential challenges to supervisors and project teams.
  • Collaborate with the media and communications team for creating posts on topics related to the broader policy department.

Eligibility Criteria 

Qualification: 

  • Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, and other related social science streams 
  • 3 years of prior experience in research roles
  • Experience of managing teams

  • Superior analytical and writing abilities 
  • Strong verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to perform in tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team and handle multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Knowledge of government policies, schemes, and functioning 
  • Knowledge of the development sector
