## Job Description: Manager – Skill Development & Capacity Building

**Job Description**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our organization’s Skill Development and Capacity Building Projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of projects aimed at enhancing skills and building capacity across various sectors.
**Responsibilities**
* **Project Management:** Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of skill development and capacity building projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of required quality standards.
* **Team Management:** Supervise and manage project staff, including trainers, coordinators, and administrative personnel, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with project goals.
* **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build and foster strategic partnerships with stakeholders including government agencies, educational institutions, industry partners, and community organizations. Collaborate with these partners to identify training needs, develop relevant training programs, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
* **Curriculum Development:** Work closely with subject matter experts to design, develop, and update training curricula and learning materials, ensuring their relevance, engagement, and alignment with industry standards and best practices.
* **Monitoring & Evaluation:** Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of training programs. Collect and analyze data to measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and drive evidence-based decision making.
* **Financial Management:** Prepare project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure efficient resource utilization in accordance with donor requirements. Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation to maximize project impact.
* **Reporting & Coordination:** Prepare regular progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation as required by stakeholders and donors. Effectively communicate project updates, achievements, and challenges to both internal and external audiences.
* **Risk Management:** Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* **Reporting & Coordination:** You will report to the Senior Manager/Assistant Programme Director at DA Headquarters (DAHQ). Coordinate with the corporate Communication and Knowledge Management unit for outcome and impact data collection, collation, and analysis. Coordinate all administrative issues with relevant departments.
**Preferred Skills & Experience**
* 5-7 years of experience working on projects focused on capacity building, skills development, research, stakeholder management, liaisoning, road safety, health, or WASH within an NGO with grassroots operations.
* Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field.
* Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful team management, budget management, and stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead cross-functional teams.
* Strong professional integrity.
* Proposal writing skills, knowledge of data management tools, and experience developing project communication materials.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Willingness to travel for field work (travel may include smaller towns and villages in rural and peri-urban areas for community interactions).
