**Job Title:** Marathi Literacy Expert
**Organization:** Leadership For Equity (LFE), a non-profit organization based in Pune, Maharashtra. LFE works to improve public education systems, focusing on building the capacity of system leaders and influencing system processes. They partner with local and state education bodies to co-create programs that enhance teaching-learning practices and student well-being. LFE’s work spans multiple states in India, impacting millions of students.
**Job Location:** Pune, Maharashtra (relocation to Maharashtra is required if not already residing there).
**Job Type:** Full-Time
**Experience Required:**
* 10 to 12 years of experience in training design and implementation, with a minimum of district-level experience.
* At least 1-2 years of classroom teaching experience.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Content Development & Review (70%):** Design the scope and sequence for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) content, prioritizing content creation based on needs assessments. Create and review teacher training materials (handbooks, lesson plans, presentations, activity guides, videos). Ensure alignment with the Maharashtra state curriculum, NEP 2020, and adult learning frameworks. Review various content outputs for pedagogical soundness. Design teacher assessment tools.
* **Capacity Building (30%):** Design and conduct monthly orientation sessions for the field team. Design feedback mechanisms to improve content. Co-facilitate sample sessions in the field. Observe field implementation to bridge the gap between content design and implementation.
**Requirements:**
* Master’s degree in Education or a related field (preferred).
* Deep understanding of pedagogy and primary grade curriculum, specifically in language, literacy, and numeracy, with a strong understanding of Marathi language learning.
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Marathi.
* Knowledge of the Maharashtra state curriculum and state-level programs/initiatives over the past 10 years.
* Proficiency in large-scale facilitation, content design, and curriculum development.
* Ability to design comprehensive and impactful training materials.
* Belief in the potential of the government education system to achieve equitable outcomes.
* Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing responsibilities.
**Compensation:** INR 12 lacs per annum (depending on experience and suitability). External travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed according to LFE’s HR policy.
