ABOUT DIGITAL EQUALIZER

Digital Equalizer is AIF’s flagship education program. DE envisions a world where all children from under-served communities, especially girls, are prepared for a career and life. The program is bridging India’s digital divide by providing and integrating technology into underperforming, under-resourced public schools, training teachers in techno-pedagogy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) methodology, and transforming classrooms into collaborative and interactive places for students to learn while preparing them for success in the 21st century global economy.

Since its inception in 2004, the Program has empowered 5.4 million children with interactive STEM experiences, trained 182,025 teachers in STEM pedagogy, and transformed 24,471 schools across 35 states and union territories of the country.

Objectives of the Project:

To integrate IBM Skills-Build Platform in the government schools as a self-learning platform
To enable learners with 21st century skills and technical skills leading to readiness for the future employability.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Master Trainer will be responsible for the training of enrolled teachers, students, and community members on the following and any other pieces of training-

A. Programme Implementation:

  • Program orientation of Teachers – this will include orientation of teachers on the program and
    its components and also help them integrate the components into their classroom teaching and learning processes.
  • PET Waste management as per the IEC material provided.
  • Visits to the school/community for the delivery of sessions and conducting activities as per the plan.
  • Facilitate Awareness sessions at the schools and communities.
  • Conducting workshops/training when and where required.
  • Facilitate the establishment of source segregation points.
  • Establish linkage between schools and communities with MRCs/ SCI-RUs / Panchayat/ Municipal waste management systems.
  • Guide in applying adult learning principles which include a mix of methodologies — such as role-play activities, discussions and exercises — to help encourage creative learning.
  • Advocacy and partnerships with relevant Government Departments and Collations.

B. Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Database management as per the mandate of the program to enhance programmatic and
    financial output – illustratively: Student enrolment, attendance in program sessions, responses
    to curriculum transaction and response analysis, case studies etc. Data collection, analysis and
    management will also be from the point of view of effective documentation and reporting requirements of the organisation and the donor.
  • Field monitoring and evaluation: a) Regular field visits to monitor the programme (at least 12 days a month or more if required); b) Design monitoring and evaluation tools and ensure
    efficacy of the programme.
  • Ensure programme implementation as per the MoU, approved budget and timelines.

C. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual team reports as per the mandate of the program.
  • Identify and document case studies to share as part of the program reporting.
  • Facilitate baseline, midterm and end-term evaluation in coordination with the MEL team.
  • Ensure reporting timelines of organisation and donor.
  • Any other reports required by the SPM.

D. Financial Management:

  • To support budget exercises as per the program requirements and donor reporting.
  • To maintain programme expenses and keep all analysis-ready as per reporting requirements
    of organisation and donor.

E. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and manage the relationship with stakeholders such as the District Education Officer and
    other key officials of the education department in the districts, Teachers, Header Teachers/Principal, School Management Committee, Panchayat etc. to enhance ownership of the program.

F. Self-Capacity Enhancement:

  • Work on enhancing his/her academic and other capabilities by taking part in organization
    driven initiatives as well making her/his own efforts, so that programme gets delivered in best possible manner

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Post-graduation – Sciences/Rural Development/Social Work/Gender Studies/Other
    Social Sciences
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the development sector, preferably the education sector.
  • Excellent academic achievements.

Preferable

  • Experience in undertaking research work in a professional space and having presented/published research papers.
  • Experience in monitoring evaluation.
  • Experience in developing and facilitating professional development programs for senior government officials.
  • Experience of having worked in the CSR domain.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, MS Excel and statistical tools is a must
  • Possesses a variety of skills – multi-tasking, time management, flexibility and
    adaptability.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi – both written and verbal
  • Excellent Analytical skills and problem solver.
  • Ability to work in the field, with communities and in multi-stakeholder processes.
  • Readiness to travel and commit to demanding program requirements.
  • Responds positively to feedback and respects diverse points of view.
  • Excellent team player and works independently with the ability to take on additional tasks.
  • Ability to work in a demanding situation.

Other: Salary commensurate with experience.
