WHO ARE WE: Instituted on August 16, 2016, Tata Steel Foundation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited. A Section 8 company with over 800+ members, it is spread across 11 units and two states of Jharkhand and Odisha. With a vision to create an enlightened and equitable society, the Foundation is committed to playing a larger role in India’s sustainable development by embedding wider economic, social, and environmental objectives through its programmes. It works across verticals like education, health, tribal identity, and skill development, and each of its initiatives has been classified under Signature Programmes and Proximity Community Development (PCDs).
ENGAGEMENT TERMS: Fixed-term Contract assignment on a yearly renewal basis
DEVELOPMENT CORRIDOR PROJECT
A) Background: Two large assets of Tata Steel exist in Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar, which are joined by a 280-km road through 16 blocks and 5 districts of 2 states, Jharkhand and Odisha. The road passes scenic forests and well-vegetated landscapes which are home to about 3.66 lakh people living in 450 villages covered by 72 Gram Panchayats. The project aims to create a unique first-of-its-kind comprehensive corridor that demonstrates to the world that industry and communities can jointly and harmoniously prosper.
B) Objectives: A visible distinctive and vibrant Jamshedpur-Kalinganagar route with the human, social, economic, and natural progress of the panchayats through enlightened, engaged & empowered communities having the potential to positively impact the lives of the people not just in and around the project & peripheral areas, but also serving as a model to replicate across the country.
C) Key Deliverables:
• Develop key indicators (process, outcome, and impact indicators) for assessing the progress of the project.
• Develop a digitized platform leveraging the DELTA platform of Tata Trusts for showing the progress of the project.
• Conduct periodic studies and evaluations for the project.
• Analyse the key gaps in the project and provide inputs to the government, Corridor Fellows and Zonal Coordinators for modifications in strategies, project implementation, and design, etc. if required.
• Establish linkages with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of ASPIRE and MANSI.
• Assist in developing annual, quarterly, and monthly reports.
• Oversee data collection, collation, storage, analysis, reporting and ensure data accuracy & audit readiness.
• Document and develop reports and MIS for internal and external reporting.
• Coordination with TSF’s technical, funding, and knowledge partners, including Tata Trusts.
• Organise capacity building of elected representatives and employees on M&E platforms including DELTA.
• Give timely inputs and feedback to internal and external stakeholders regarding project progress.
• Be a part of the project’s financial reporting, including budgets.
• Support panchayats in enabling quality GPDP preparation, implementation, and monitoring by providing quality complementary/supplementary training to gram panchayat facilitating teams (GPPFT) / Ward Planning Facilitation Teams (WPFT) and support ERs for GPDP implementation.
• Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by TSF’s management to fulfill project objectives.
Minimum Qualification: Post Graduation/Masters in Statistics / Demographics / Operations Research / Public Health / Any other Master’s degree with a focus on Research, from a premier institute.
Minimum No. of years of experience: Minimum 3 years & above

– Survey roll-out, Project Planning, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Research Design
– Financial Management
– Ability to design and operationalize M&E systems for projects.
– Good document/proposal drafting skills
– Ability to work with large data sets & dexterous with digital skills
– Good English communication (read, speak & write) skills
