The Role

SELCO Foundation is looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working in the overall sustainable energy sector for last mile communities. The broader goal is to use decentralized renewable energy to facilitate increased incomes and productivity, improve well being, reduce drudgery etc. through the integration of climate inclusive technologies into livelihood practices for the underserved communities.

The Outreach & Content Communications Coordinator for Outreach & Communications at SELCO Foundation will help us

  • To maintain all the content which includes the updated case studies, videos and necessary documentation on the website.
  • To maintain all the content on all the web portals. Coordinate with different programme teams for updating it on a regular basis.
  • To work on the content, and with the design team on the Institutional Newsletters from end to end.
  • To work on the social media content and take responsibility for posting it across the relevant platforms. The responsibilities would include evaluating analytics to adjust content as needed and maintaining the analytics sheet and tracking the performance of social media platforms.
  • The person needs to be a strong people’s person and coordinate with the on-ground teams for curating the requisite content.
  • They should be able to consistently keep abreast of the latest developments in the domains that SELCO Foundation is engaged in.
  • They should also have the skills to be able to contribute to the development of content curation & outreach tactics that will increase reader engagement.

Key responsibilities for the position :

  • Build and write content by accumulating information from the ground teams as per the priority subjects, relevance to external stakeholders and time of dissemination
  • Prepare well-structured drafts strictly within deadlines and create compelling headlines & body copies that will capture the attention of the target audience
  • Coordinate with design and ground teams to illustrate various outreach material based on key projects/priority areas/programmes/work themes
  • Edit and refine existing content to improve readability & increase engagement as per target audience
  • Curate newsletters, website content, blogs, and articles as per requirement & target audience
  • Prepare press releases, media bytes, and op-eds as per topical subjects within short frames of time

Who can apply:

  • Practical, hands-on experience of a minimum of 4 years in creative writing, journalism, media, content marketing, communications, PR or an allied field
  • Experience in journalism, media relations, creative writing or editorial management is required.
  • Mixed/ diverse experiences are preferred
  • Self-motivated, responsible and should be engaged and highly interested in the developmental agenda
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral with an excellent hold on the English language
  • String hold on any other local language – Hindi, Kannada, Odiya and Assamese would be an added advantage
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel.
