Founded by leading Indian business and philanthropic figures like Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, and Nadir Godrej, the ICC focuses on:

**About India Climate Leaders (ICL)**

 

The India Climate Leaders (ICL) program empowers and cultivates climate leaders among high-net-worth individuals in India. ICL directs funds towards climate priorities aligned with India’s ambitious mitigation targets and development goals, advocating for accelerated climate funding and more integrated action. The ICC serves as an advisor to these leaders, providing guidance on strategic giving without charging for its services or pooling grant capital.

 

**Job Location:** Delhi, India

 

**Experience Required:**

 

* 10+ years of relevant work experience in non-profit, climate consulting, policy research and/or field-based/ implementing organizations.

* Expertise in principal development work or donor advising is critical. Proven success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding eight-figure gifts from philanthropists, especially ultra-high-net-worth donors.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Develop strategies to engage new donors for climate solutions, including network evaluation and engagement strategies.

* Collaborate in developing content and strategies for philanthropy-focused events to attract new donors.

* Design and implement comprehensive donor plans for cultivating philanthropic learning and action on climate.

* Conduct research to understand potential donors, aligning engagement strategies and proposals with their interests.

* Partner with climate intelligence colleagues to source ideas for philanthropists and multi-interest donors.

* Develop and manage materials to support engagement, including tailored tools, presentations, proposals, and portfolio materials.

* Guide assigned philanthropists through a process of learning and scaled climate giving, including learning sessions and portfolio creation.

* Coordinate and track activities, proposals, commitments, and reports using the ICC’s donor engagement database (Salesforce). 

* Support philanthropists’ long-term commitment to climate philanthropy and maintain professional relationships with donor and partner NGO networks.

* Collaborate with the ICL team to set strategies annually to meet yearly and five-year goals.

 

**Skills and Experience:**

 

* Expertise in principal development work or donor advising.

* Proven track record of exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with convening capabilities.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a persuasive and attentive approach.

* Strategic mindset with the ability to read between the lines and translate priorities into operational reality.

* Prior experience working with customer relationship management systems is a plus, as is previous climate experience.
