Job Description

The Placement Manager – Skill-Ed is responsible for the successful placement of students trained through Bhumi’s Skill-ed program in appropriate positions within the job market. They must identify and secure job opportunities for students, create career development opportunities, and maintain relationships with employers.

Skill-Ed provides skills training on different Technological and Soft Skills for the economic empowerment of marginalised youth to build skills required for all entry-level positions, build confidence and entrepreneurship skills. The youth are supported for job placements as well. The training is imparted in various locations in PAN India, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Qualified and experienced trainers provide training, and the training is free of cost for the Economically Weaker students. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and approach potential IT companies interested in recruiting from tier 2 and 3 city colleges.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with local and national IT companies, emphasizing the benefits of recruiting from diverse talent pools.
  • Work closely with students to understand their career goals and aspirations, guiding them toward suitable employment opportunities.
  • Organize placement drives, job fairs, and industry-specific events to connect students with potential employers.
  • Conduct pre-placement training, resume building workshops, and mock interviews to enhance students’ employability.
  • Provide regular reports to the management team, showcasing placement statistics, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging sectors and job roles, facilitating proactive student training programs.
  • Plan and coordinate placement events, ensuring seamless interactions between students and corporate representatives.
  • Organize guest lectures, industry panels, and networking sessions to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

Educational Qualification/Experience:

Educational Degree : Graduation / Post-Graduation. 

Relevant Experience(in years) : Minimum of 3 years of experience in working with top institutions/ colleges/companies as a placement officer.

Knowledge & Skill sets required:

  • Strong network connection of at least 50 companies in hand that he can leverage.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including corporate leaders and educational institutions.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by tier 2 and 3 city colleges in employment placement.
