## Coordinator / Lead – Policy and Advocacy

**Experience Required:**
* Minimum 5 years of experience in policy and advocacy, preferably in the field of biodiversity conservation.
* Proven track record of successful engagement with government agencies and stakeholders.
* Strong understanding of environmental policy and legislation in India.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Coordinator / Lead – Policy and Advocacy. This role will be responsible for working closely with state governments to effectively integrate Global Biodiversity Framework Goals and Targets into plans, policies, and programs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop and implement policy and advocacy strategies to promote the integration of Global Biodiversity Framework Goals and Targets into state-level plans and policies.
* Engage with state government officials, including forest departments, environment departments, and other relevant agencies, to advocate for the adoption of WWF-India’s recommendations.
* Conduct research and analysis on relevant policy issues and prepare reports and briefs for internal and external stakeholders.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and industry representatives.
* Participate in relevant policy dialogues and forums at the state level.
* Contribute to the development of WWF-India’s overall policy and advocacy agenda.
**Qualifications:**
* Master’s degree in environmental science, conservation biology, public policy, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in policy and advocacy, preferably in the field of biodiversity conservation.
* Proven track record of successful engagement with government agencies and stakeholders.
* Strong understanding of environmental policy and legislation in India.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
