**Job Description: Policy Manager (Environment, Energy, and Climate Change) at J-PAL South Asia**

 

**Location:** New Delhi, India  

**Position Type:** Full-Time

**About the Company:**  

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center dedicated to reducing poverty by ensuring policy decisions are informed by scientific evidence. With over 1,000 researchers worldwide, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to address critical questions in poverty reduction. J-PAL South Asia (J-PAL SA), based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in India, focuses on promoting evidence-informed policies through partnerships with governments, NGOs, and donors.

 

**Experience Required:**  

– **Education:** Master’s degree in economics, public policy, environment/climate policy, or international development. A technical understanding of impact evaluations is preferred.

– **Experience:** Four or more years of relevant experience in environment, energy, air/water pollution, or climate policy. Experience with program evaluation is a plus.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. Support SARWA’s government partnerships and identify research opportunities.

2. Synthesize findings from J-PAL studies into knowledge products for dissemination.

3. Coordinate between researchers and government officials to organize events and webinars.

4. Assist in fundraising and developing new partnerships with donors.

5. Conduct desk research, literature reviews, and data analysis.

6. Promote evidence-informed policies in the E2C2 sector by collaborating with stakeholders.

7. Lead evidence dissemination activities and represent J-PAL in meetings.

8. Supervise team members and contribute to cross-vertical collaborations.

 

**Qualifications:**

– Strong understanding of randomized evaluations and their policy implications.

– Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with fluency in English. Knowledge of Hindi is advantageous.

– Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

– Interest in international development and program evaluation.
