**Job Description: Policy Manager (Environment, Energy, and Climate Change)**  

**Location:** New Delhi, India  

**Experience Required:** 4+ years post-relevant Master’s degree  

 

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center dedicated to reducing poverty by ensuring policy decisions are informed by scientific evidence. With over 1,000 researchers worldwide, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to address critical questions in the fight against poverty and climate change.  

 

**About J-PAL South Asia (J-PAL SA):**  

Based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in India, J-PAL South Asia focuses on translating research into actionable policies. The Policy vertical engages with governments, NGOs, and donors to scale effective interventions and promote evidence-informed decision-making.  

 

The Environment, Energy, and Climate Change (E2C2) sector at J-PAL South Asia seeks a Policy Manager to contribute to its mission of advancing evidence-based policy solutions. This role will focus on the SARWA initiative, which addresses water and air challenges through partnerships with government agencies like the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board.  

 

**Key Responsibilities:**  

– Support SARWA’s government partnerships and identify research opportunities in energy, climate change, pollution reduction, and energy access.  

– Synthesize evidence from J-PAL studies to develop knowledge products for policymakers.  

– Coordinate with researchers and stakeholders to organize events, disseminate findings, and promote scaling of evidence-based interventions.  

– Lead networking efforts with governments, NGOs, and donors to advance the E2C2 sector’s goals.  

 

**Qualifications:**  

– Master’s degree in economics, public policy, environment/climate policy, or international development.  

– 4+ years of relevant experience in environment, energy, air/water pollution, or climate policy.  

– Strong understanding of randomized evaluations and their policy implications.  

– Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into accessible insights for policymakers.  

– Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi is an advantage.
