Public Relations Manager (PR Manager) Job Description

Smile Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic Public Relations Manager (PR Manager) to drive our media relations, form select collaboration; ensure execution and measurement of PR & media campaigns, with the goal of continuing the institutional attributes of Smile Foundation amongst donors, corporates, government agencies, professionals, employees, influencers and the public.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, strategise, implement and manage public relations
  • Manage relevant agencies and associates, providing them with inputs and keeping them up to date
  • Plan and budget for PR events, conferences and initiatives
  • Media outreach in metro and tier-2 cities focusing on national and vernacular print, online, TV and radio
  • Programmes /Projects: Media stories that will highlight all our programmes, our work on the ground; programme-focused industry stories
  • Draft press releases, help develop articles and blogs
  • Thought Leadership and Management Profiling: Profiling, interviews, authored articles and opinions (facilitate/ write/ edit)
  • Monitor corporate image frequently and ensure it is in compliance with the organization/ brand
  • Work with various departments to design, maintain, and champion the mission, vision, and strategy of the organization
  • Ensure alignment between the management and communication goals
  • Ensure appropriate accountability for the implementation of plans and change initiatives
  • Ensuring participation in webinars, awards and organising roundtables
  • Institutional level: Media stories that will highlight “Smile Foundation” as a decade old esteemed institution, a thought leader in the industry stories
  • Facilitate or conduct weekly and monthly meetings with the PR agency/ ideation/ report submission
  • Associations/ collaborations with various media houses – Print, TV, Online, Radio, On ground and award participations
  • Media networking, monitoring of social media listening tool/agency
  • Relationship building meetings with all relevant stakeholder (new contact) and networking with the media to build organizational database
  • Design and review the online content in media announcements and media kits
  • Develop and implement PR policies and procedures
  • Measure and provide reports on each PR campaign
  • Produce content for various speeches, events, announcements for internal circulation
  • Develop and implement crisis communications advice and media strategy, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience around 8 to 10 years
  • Working experience as a journalist in a media house of repute
  • Prior experience with a PR agency handling various clients. Handling a development sector client will be an added advantage
  • Experience of a Public Relations Specialist with a corporate or development sector organization
  • An ideal candidate will have a combined backgrounds in journalism, corporate communication and pr agency
  • Graduate / Post Graduate in PR, communications or journalism
  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
