**Position Overview:**

We seek a Pre-Doctoral Fellow to support Prof. Donald R. Davis on research projects in urban economics, international trade, economic geography, and regional economics. This role is ideal for candidates interested in pursuing a Ph.D., offering hands-on experience in empirical and theoretical research methods.

**Role and Responsibilities:**

1. **Research Support:**  

   – Assist with research projects in areas like urbanization, international trade, market scale, inequality, and spatial economic activity.

   – Conduct literature reviews and assemble relevant datasets.

   – Contribute to model simulations and statistical analyses.

2. **Data Analysis and Literature Review:**  

   – Analyze large datasets using statistical software (R, STATA) and interpret results.

   – Familiarity with AI platforms is desirable.

3. **Technical Support:**  

   – Prepare background materials for research submissions.

   – Assist with other relevant tasks as required.

**Essential Qualifications:**

– Master’s degree in economics, urban studies, international trade, or a related field with a strong quantitative background.

– Proficiency in statistical programming (R, STATA) and familiarity with data visualization tools preferred.

– Strong analytical and empirical skills, demonstrated through academic coursework or research projects.

– Experience as a Research Assistant is highly desirable.

– Keen interest in academic research and pursuit of a Ph.D. in Economics or related discipline.
