Job Summary
Digital Green has embarked on an ambitious strategy over the coming five years to deepen as well as broaden its core offerings to improve smallholder farm productivity, while embarking on a journey to identify impactful and scalable tech enabled solutions for sustainable and resilient agriculture. The new strategy and the theory of change are coupled with a smart communication strategy that helps advancing the organizational mission by promoting brand and identity and positioning Digital Green as a trusted, go-to partner across India.
As Product Marketing Manager, India, you’ll help develop the positioning, messaging, and execute the go-to-market strategies for Digital Green’s products and services. This focus includes running and orchestrating product events; researching personas and use cases; creating product messaging and collateral; developing our value proposition and case studies with partners; and promoting our offerings to partners and prospects. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of business and technical skill to understand our market, craft compelling messaging, develop innovative campaign programs, and enable our teams and partners to use our products.
The Product Marketing Manager will report to the Director, Communications, engage closely with the project and in-country staff to advance Digital Green’s voice and key messages, and will support global communications.
Location: Bangalore office.
Key Responsibilities
Product Positioning
- Support India product and program teams with business case opportunities to drive product awareness and opportunities for growth with key audiences
- Lead efforts to market to technical practitioners in the Indian tech and government community by deeply understanding their needs and use cases as well as Digital Green’s products and technology
- Contribute to marketing strategy and messaging, and maintain technical accuracy of marketing messages
- Develop messaging and positioning that clearly defines our products’ value proposition to partners
- Develop marketing personas with a focus on value, differentiation and use cases, partnering closely with product managers to execute the promotional strategy element of the product roadmap
Support Go-To-Market Strategy
- Plan go-to-market initiatives for new product and features, partnering closely with product, engineering, and business development leads
- Create content strategy and develop innovative campaigns with a drumbeat of high-impact content to drive awareness and understanding
- Create product demos to illustrate capabilities, differentiators, and benefits for Indian partners
- Create technical product marketing materials, including videos, white papers, presentations, web content, and more
- Conduct training sessions to help product and program teams understand our technology and how to position it effectively with prospects and customers
- Produce content for webinars, events, and speaking opportunities
- Handle product launch for new farmer organization facing platform and related to go-to-market strategies to drive awareness and use of capabilities and offerings
Market & Customer Insight
- Develop deep market, customer, and user insight to inform the portfolio roadmap and marketing strategies
- Track and analyze marketing efforts and feedback to drive iterative improvements for future product promotions
- Support efforts to validate future product and feature concepts through customer interviews, research and analysis of user data
- Leverage insights from partners and peers to proactively refine our messaging, ensure product-market fit, and influence the product marketing strategy
Qualifications and Experiences
- At least 4-6 years of product marketing experience, master’s degree in business management or marketing preferred
- Proven track record of executing product marketing strategies in India, across multiple platforms and mediums
- Demonstrated success and passion for collecting and using customer insight to drive strategic decisions
- Comfortable with data, and collecting and analyzing data from a number of sources
- Ability to position innovative products and tell compelling stories through sales narratives and marketing collateral
- Prefer experience working in the agriculture, food, nutrition, or technology space
- Preference for technical skills or experience in a complementary areas such as graphic or web design, data visualization, photo/videography, podcasting, or related skillsets
- Attention to detail, ability to develop and oversee workflow processes and system
- Experienced, clear, precise writer and editor in English
- Proactive, organized, sets and meets deadlines, balances competing priorities
- Creative communicator with new ideas and a willingness to take risks
- Ability to work with and bring together a diverse group of stakeholders
- Thrives in a fast moving, entrepreneurial and ambiguous environment.
- Experienced in building, prioritizing, and inspiring a culture of storytelling and clear communication across an organization
- Digital technology expertise is key to the role as well as a distinguishing feature of the organization. Ideally, they should have worked around social impact and policy and can translate the technical aspect of digital technology
- There is an opportunity to travel roughly 4-6 weeks a year, and may be adjusted depending on the evolution of the role
