In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, UNICEF, World Health Organization, University of Manitoba, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers, and others.

Jhpiego, through the Tuberculosis Implementation Framework Agreement (TIFA) supported by USAID and facilitated by John Snow International (JSI), is implementing a project on delivering Differentiated TB Care services through primary healthcare.ls of the healthcare system and ensure the continued provision of high-quality Differentiated TB Care services to persons with TB.

For this project, Jhpiego is hiring eight Program Coordinators (four positions for Madhya Pradesh, three positions for Odisha, and one position for Meghalaya based at various districts). The position will work closely with the intervention districts and their allocated region to ensure timely implementation of the project activities. The Program Coordinators will report to the Senior Program Officer/ State Program Manager and is a fixed-term position for seven months from the date of joining (tentatively November 2023 to May 2024), with a scope of extension based on the continuity of funding.

Responsibilities

  • The Program Coordinator works closely with the District TB Officers for the roll-out of project activities.
  • Provide technical and operational support to districts and regions for program implementation as per the agreed plan and timelines of the project.
  • Conduct training and capacity building of healthcare providers and front-line workers on TB services and Ni-kshay Portal.
  • Provide handholding and supervision support to healthcare providers in the respective districts.
  • Coordinate with TB centers to establish linkages with Health and wellness centers (HWCs) for improving the identification and referral of comorbidities.
  • Coordinate the timely collection, collation, compilation, and dissemination of data pertaining to the project.
  • Assist in data collection and conduct field visits for follow-up assessments as needed.
  • Support supervisor in analyzing data, developing dashboards, and generating relevant graphs and information.
  • Work closely with the district and NTEP team in developing and maintaining a complete database of the project activities.
  • Support the respective state team and MERL team at ICO in verifying the accuracy of the data.
  • Work closely with the supervisor to document various learnings, case studies, and success stories under the project.
  • Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Science/Social Work is essential with MPH/ MSW/Post graduate degree in relevant field is desirable.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience and experience working in NTEP at district/block level will be an added advantage.
  • Data Base Management including designing a data entry program, data cleaning, and data analysis, according to the indicators required in the frame of Projects.
  • Familiarity with the health system of respective states, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies/ strategies related to the NTEP program.
  • Experience in working with the development sector/ NGOs would be preferred.
